Nice win for Casey. They played Mercer earlier in the season and lost badly, 66-103, but they are playing with a lot of momentum. It'll be interesting to see if they can score the upset.

I think you have to take Mercer County in the championship game but stranger things have happened. Casey County is a very legitimate threat.

That Freshman point guard for Casey County is gonna be a player. Very impressed.

What a game! After being written off this entire season, 16-17 Casey County is headed to the Regional Championship Game for the first time since 1993! It's been a roller coaster ride, there's been highs and there's been lows, but I had no doubt that we couldn't do what we have done. One of the top backcourts in the 12th, capable bigs, a DJ, a freshman 6th man that has come alive here at the end, and a coach thats on a mission. Folks, we've got a nice team, no fluke's here.

 

On the other side, what a game by Boyle County! Those boys play hard, and they've got some nice young talent moving up in the ranks! Best defensive team in the region in my book, and very well coached.

Hats of to Colton Elkins on a great high school basketball career. He has been a real joy to watch.

The guard combo of Alexander & Slone will be a force for the next 2 years.

Congrats to Casey County and Coach Stallworth on the victory. Casey County got better each day this season and will play for a chance to go to Rupp Arena.

 

Great game and great atmosphere. Casey County answered every Boyle County attempt to get back in the game. Very poised and made their free throws down the stretch. A really good team win for Casey County. Congrats again and good luck tomorrow.

 

I hate the season is over. I'll miss watching Colton Elkins play the game of basketball. It has been a privilege to watch that kid dominate games defensively. He will be missed.

 

I feel real bad for Josey. I hate his basketball career ended tonight. Leave it on the floor, Josey!!!!

 

Tip of of the cap to the other seniors who will all be missed. Mack Cox, Jase Sharp, Dario Delcastillo, Colton McGlone and Stewie!!!!!! You guys have provided an example of what it means to be a Rebel and have been excellent role models and mentors for the Rebels behind you. Thank you all for everything and always cherish the memories you all have made these last four years!!! You will be missed and good luck to all of you in the future!

My pleasure! Thanks for digging that info up about the 6 game win streak, guess now that I think about it I can't remember us ever winning 6 games in a row. Interesting!

This doesn't really pertain to the game, and maybe I'm just partial, but I found it a bit degrading that Casey didn't have anyone on the All-Region team. Smith at a 20ppg average on the season seems well deserving, and arguments could be made for Miller and White as well.
