Capital is very good. Athletes all over the place and Keri Martin (QB - committed to WVU as an athlete) was the real deal. They played well and earned the win. Penalties and turnovers was the killer for JC. The Golden Eagles had a 2 and 3 from the Capital 11 yard line late in 2Q and got a chop block called, followed by an illegal formation and ended the half only up 14-7 when it should have been 21-7. Three promising drives in the 2nd half ended with a fumble by the FB in Capital territory on 1st down, a turnover on downs deep in Capital territory and an interception respectively. Capital tied the game late and took the lead on their last drive of the game. Overall, JC had 3 turnovers and Capital had zero. JC also had over 100 yards of penalties (all were good calls). Joe Jackson ended with around 20 carries for about 120-130 yards. Ryley Preece ran for 2 TD's (threw for over 100 yards as well) and Cody Rice ran for the other. Ryan Sartin-Slone caught 3-4 passes for around 100 yards in his debut at WR. Great crowd and great atmosphere! This is the best Capital team I have seen over the past three seasons. Don't know if they can compete with Martinsburg in WV, but they are very good. Talent everywhere, especially at skill positions! JC will be fine. They will learn, get better, and grow from this game.
