  1. HHS has a nice team. Very nice system and is well coached. 5 players moving, cutting, looking to score. Not overly quick but have a couple areas they can find a advantage on you. I can see where they need their PG back. I thought they were suspect under pressure. Looked better than the other 2 games I have watched them play. When healthy they are legit. NDA should have pressured them more. NDA is like watching paint dry on offense. Bring the ball up, wait for the play to be called. Pass it left or right and wait and hope #12 gets open. PG attacks the lane very well and does it 3-4 times a game to score and other times are because 12 isn't open and has to do something with the ball. I heard HHS coach even yell many times to the effect, only worry about Martin. As we watched 2 NDA players knock down 3 after 3 before game and at half. We counted 5 for 7 from #34 and 6-7 from #11 but they shoot as a reaction during the game. You can see it, like oh I am open I better shoot and they hardly ever shoot. I also heard these two teams play in 2 weeks again. A must see.
  2. IDK but the 3 refs working the Highlands/NDA game left me scratching my head about 10 times during the game. Scratching my head because I sit there wondering how in the world they think they saw what they just called. Can they really be that bad. Or maybe it is favoritism and your correct. That would certainly explain it. Be consistent for one. Its not that hard to do. Two, call the foul on the right player not one 15 feet away from the play. Not once but 2-3 times. Realize not one person in the stands in there to watch a referee. Finally get a pair and call your own game and not react to a coach calling it for you.
  3. was actually a question I was going to ask. When Jenkins is up 20 or down 20 does she stay in the game? how much does she sit during the game. I get the system is to let her score as much as she can but was curious about in blow outs when most clear the bench what Jenkins does? she is averaging 35 shots a game so not a slam just curious.
  4. Very interesting to watch and notice not one time does a teammate give her 5 or acknowledge anything she does.
  5. Take 1-7 and pick them out of a hat and it wouldn't be far off. There is not one team of those 7 that would surprise me to win their regions.
  6. Not surprised. Assumption is struggling. Taking nothing away from NDA. Great backcourt at NDA that is only going to get better and better. What NDA has to be happy about is beating teams who they should how they should. Also seems like Rennekamp is getting more time Next 2-3 weeks will be interesting
  7. Congrats NDA. I heard from ST Henry and NDA fans that this was a very very good showing. Any stats ? Heard Rennekamp had nice productive minutes and Noble couldn't get anything going offensively and fouled out early. How was Martin and Hagen ?
  8. I am a stat guy so had to look up what I was saying Martin is 9 of 26 from 3 through 3 games for 34%. Has taken 42 shots for 38% next person has 17 attempts and I know atleast 3 of those arer at end of qtrs as I watched them. This doesn't take away from Martin and how she is which is very good but rather shows how much better NDA and her could be with more options and drawing defenders off her. NDA doesn't put enough shots to shoot 35-40% a game.
  9. I didn't say the were at this point. I said IF they can do these things from what I have seen they would be. At this point since they are not that team yet or may never be I have them in the next 5. IMO
  10. As a fan and no dog in the fight. NDA is better off with Martin scoring 5 pts less a game and the team scoring 15-20 more. They run 95% or more trying to get her free on sets no offensive system and 3 stand around as the pg tries to get her the ball often being stuck because Martin is well guarded and they have no other plan of attack. 40 pts a game isn't going to win many games. Martin plays fearless and I agree about her hitting the 3s but make the defense work and be aware of others and maybe she even gets more looks and the team scores 60 a game. She isn't handling the ball so I would think ND can find other ways to score as well. if they do and become a team that plays that defense they do and can find more scoring, they are in my top 3-5 in NKY but they are not there yet.
  11. I am not sure how we can call that well coached? What is well coached about a head coach taking a very hard fought game away from his team. He never shuts up on the sideline to his own players and the referees. I have a 6th grader who enjoys watching several teams play, I would be very hesitant to put her there for basketball. First thing she says in the car is if I was that player(s) I would be so upset.
  12. Confirmed with a NDA player. He dropped the f bomb on the ref. The non foul call when 11 got mugged was pathetic but he has to know better and grow up.
  13. NDA coach goes Deja Vu. Tie game under a minute. He gets a T and cost the pandas 3 points. CC hits a jumper with 3 secs left to win it.
  14. I think what they were saying, correct me if I am wrong. Is NDA has a lot of Stars/Premiere players and a couple have transferred to NDA after a summer with the stars. Martin from Grant after playing for him. The freshman Hoppius the same from Conner. Gribben, Zimmerman, Rennekamp all played for the stars as well. I am sure their are others. Hagen? Being involved so much with a org as their coaches are does allow them access and the opportunity to build a relationship to maybe sway these families to NDA. In the end I would hope a parent isn't going to choose a school for sports alone. I also don't feel this pales in comparison with kids playing 2-3 years for a school as a middle schooler and then changing schools and a freshman.
  15. G To confirm highlands 8th girls beat Gray ? If so nice win for HMS
  16. Its sooooo true. everyone measures good by points scored. but its players like this who allow others to score. Any good player can score a lot if the system allows them to yet its hard to find the player who leads with IQ, leadership, defense, making the right decisions etc. without this others scoring goes way down. fact
  17. I agree. I just found out NDA pg Hagen is a sophomore. I watched NDA 3-4 times last year and don't recall her. The nky sophomore class is unreal. It may be the best class we've seen in a long time. Fun years ahead. Not to mention the 8th graders at SK who made a couple key shots.
  18. Notre Dame controlled the first half taking 7 point lead to the half and 5 to the 4th quarter. SK began to hit the offensive boards hard as they were not shooting well and that got them a late 2-3 point lead. NDA coach got a questionable T under 2 mins left down 2-3 after a very very bad call and SK takes advantage. was a 4-5 point swing. Hard fought game by two very determined teams which was fun to watch. Good luck to both the rest of the way. Stay healthy to both teams
  19. Dixie got behind 30-8 at half and could not make it a game. Very impressed with NDA defense and guard play. Have a lot of pieces that work. Will be interesting to see each of these teams develop throughout the season. Good luck to both the rest of the way
  20. Dixie got behind 30-8 at half and could not make it a game. Very impressed with NDA defense and guard play. Have a lot of pieces that work. Will be interesting to see each of these teams develop throughout the season. Good luck to both the rest of the way
