  1. IMO, if a team that is going to getblown out truly feels like a game is a waste of time, money, and effort. Forfeiture is always an option. As long as these schools are willing to make the trip to get blown out, so be it.
  2. You are speaking from one point of view. My senior year we hosted a four seed and got beat in the first round. Are you saying they shouldn't have even had the opportunity to be there? 3A District 8 will likely sweep District 7 in the first round. You're saying Magoffin County and Breathitt County are more deserving to be there than Sheldon Clark and Pike Co. Central, even though SC and PCC will likely win their first round road playoff games.
  3. I agree that a sloppy field most likely plays in Estill's favor. Both teams like the spread look, but I see Estill handling the sloppy conditions better because of Jones's mobility.
  4. Awesome words to hear coach. A lot of people are already calling for us to struggle next season with all the experience we lose but if this big upcoming senior class can get in the weight and inspire the young kids to do the same, we will be very competitive next year. I also agree that we are the best team not playing a game this upcoming Friday. I played in two playoff games in high school and while we didn't win one, it was always special to me not knowing when my last game was going to be. My heart goes out to those seniors who are reflecting on those Friday Night Lights and realizing they'll never get that feeling again. Believe me seniors, it doesn't get any easier.
  5. That's hard to call, PB98. Mason ran through their schedule when Boone was behind center. When O'mara was behind center they struggled with a feisty Lewis County team that failed to make the playoffs, got mauled by Russell, and lost a tight one with Fleming. Either way I think Mason pulls this one out by a TD or less.
  6. Paging OLinePride... I know you said you don't like to comment on our games but some insight from you would be awesome on the last game of the season. I was very impressed by how well the Lions played.
  7. Surprised both of these teams put up this amount of points. The defense must've been nonexistent last night.
  8. Mason County and Estill County will be a very good game. Sheldon Clark and Magoffin County should also be very competitive.
  9. The field conditions I'm sure contributed to the lack of offense. West Carter's field is atrocious. But Paintsville didn't ecactly keep it close against Raceland. I think they are a tad overrated and West is a tad underrated. But that's JMO. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
  10. I'm not sure what you mean by "what happened?" Little Ram but West Carter is certainly no pushover this season. I'm more surprised that the Tigers shut the Comets out than I am that it was only a 9 point game.
  11. Look for District 8 to possibly sweep District 7 in the first round.
  12. Hard to believe Lewis misses the playoffs and Magoffin won their district, realignment is certainly needed.
  13. Final. Good win for the Lions to finish the season and improve their final record to 5-5.
  14. For Lewis I would add Cody Lawhun and Nathaniel Lightner from the 2011 team. Lightner was a difference maker on the offensive line and Lawhun was just an unblockable playmaker on the defensive line. Both areas of desperate need for this season's version of the Lions.
  15. Why else do you think Ironton was so eager to schedule another Kentucky team when Raceland called? Ironton loves that they (usually) beat up on Russell and Ashland and those schools usually get them a lot of points. So when the smaller Raceland Rams who have a very good program and consistently win 7-10 games a year called, Ironton was all aboard.
  16. Thanks for your input coach. We really moved the ball at will in the second half, no one is to blame for what happened. Play calls were at times questionable (I would have given the ball to Stamm and Everman on first and second down on the last set of downs we had). But I really liked what i seen out of our backfield and i actually think having Everman in there at fullback made a huge difference. If that could have been our backfield all year with Thurman at guard, our offense would have been a lot better, IMO.
  17. Mason has been hit hard by injuries but I've seen both teams play this year and I promise that is not what determined the outcome of this one.
  18. Ironton wins 28-13. I think the Ram defense will pose some problems for the Tigers, especially in the first half. But in the end Ironton is just too big and physical and don't let us forget they are at home. Good luck Rams, I hope you prove me wrong and bring a W back to this side of the river.
  19. Certainly an interesting case for Magoffin. They won their district but if they lose to Lewis County will have lost to two different 3A teams who missed out on the playoffs all together.
  20. Congrats to Greenup on their first trip to the playoffs since 2010.
  21. Would love to hear from OLinePride on what he thinks about this one
