  1. Black and Jones anchor an experienced CovCath line. Overall maybe best line in NKY next year.
  2. Cov Cath could have scored theee less touchdowns per game and still topped 5A last year. They could get Ws without running clocks and come out on top again but we won’t know till Dec. A year ago there was plenty of debate about who would win 5A and no one dreamed 15-0 with running clocks. As was pointed out elsewhere, CCH is actually on the small end of 5A, the 64th team according the classification list.
  3. Absolutely. And he has been running this offense at the JV level , including passing, very successfully.
  4. It was mentioned above that Wolf from 87 went D-1. Didn’t he play on Thomas Mores first teams?
  5. Again eras at different. Spread the 87defense with the formations and plays run this year and I don’t know. I played with some of those 87 players and I think this years team gets them. It was a great team no doubt and all we can do is WAG. But, if Ray says it, it carries some weight. Even his opinion is an opinion.
  6. When a team plays such good defense the other team can’t get a decent shot off for over a minute, it’s good basketball. Maybe not as fan friendly as some would like, but ...
  7. Coach Ray is not under any pressure to make that statement. He clearly enjoyed and loved his teams that won it all. Different eras are difficult to reconcile. If anyone is allowed to it’s Coach Ray.
  8. The offense got lots of love for this season. The defense got some but how about those scholarship offer for 5 starting defenders. Mayer Butler Coldiron Dyer Pike They all played both ways too. Wonder if the 4th LB will get any offers next year and make it 4 for 4.
  9. At 64th in-size, CovCath still almost one third the students of Trinity so not moving up.
  10. “Now a question could be asked, since some people wondered if CovCath could have played with Trinity. Since enrollment will put CovCath in 5A. Would CovCath consider moving up to 6A to challenge themselves even more with the program they are building? Or will they like to try to sustain success for a few more years before maybe considering that?” Well if 32 teams per class, CovCath would be the smallest school in 5A. This list has more than 32 in 5A so still in bottom third.
  11. Well, seems they likely finish in top two of their 5A district. They did the past two years didn’t they.
  12. Great kid. Really came on defensively this year. Look forward to some Saturday footage.
  13. That’s four of this years defensive front seven going D1 so far. Expect more offers for Jack.
  14. D line and O line will be as good or better as this year. With two running backs back on offense and two big D1 players running pass routes the QB doesn’t have it be running clock good. Two of four LBs back. The secondary lost the most outside of QB. Should make a run at repeating...
  15. The way people freak out at the “Great White Death” I have a feeling this game may not happen... May be many cancellations?
