  1. Am I the only one that cares about this battle between 2 Top 10 teams (in their classes)?
  2. I can't believe there isn't a thread on this already. This is one of the games this weekend that I am most looking forward to. Can Bell Co. win this game at home? Is Henry Clay that good this year that they can roll up into the Mountains and win in a very tough place? What are your thoughts?
  3. Mark this down, on August 29: If the Reds go 1-4 in their next 5 games they'll finish 5th or worse in the Wild Card standings at season's end. With so many teams stacked up, and 3 games with wild card runner-up San Diego looming, one can't say enough about how important these next 5 games are.
  4. The Mud Bowl was CovCath's most famous victory, but I'd say it trails the 5 State Championship Games in a poll of "biggest wins" in the program's history.
  5. Yeah, you're doing a nice job carrying the flag for NKY over there. Keep fighting the good fight cshs81.
  6. Yappi is already up and running with their thread as well -- some hilarious predictions. Yappi
  7. What was th score of the scrimmage when HHS started putting points on the board, 52-7? I can assure you, if you get down like that to Elder (and you won't, I realize), you can pile up anything you'd like. Elder is a smash-mouth defense, and no threat of a passing game will result in Kramer really taking a pounding. Kramer is great, no question, but for his sake I hope that Highlands can establish Cecil through the air to some point. Again, I hope like heck that HHS can win this one.
  8. I think Scott Co. is very good, and I'll be shocked if this is close -- sorry I didn't word that more clearly. If Boone is close in this one then I have mis-labeled the Cardinals. How about that.
  9. Mom, welcome to the site! Nice to have you. Do me a favor please, resist the urge to yell at us (ALL CAPS) in the future. Thanks. :thumb: Enjoy BGP...
  10. I'll be shocked if Boone Co. keeps it within 3 TD's. If they do, then Scott Co. is much worse than I think they are, or Rick Thompson has done a masterful job in the last 13 days.
  11. A hold? No. A flat-out mugging, yes. Didn't make a difference, you're right. CovCath had a zillion chances to win that game and have only themselves to blame for not getting it done. Hopefully they rebound and take care of business this week. The frustrating thing for me is, they had a chance to steal one yesterday, and now, have really very little chance at ending the year any better than 6-4. I'm all for a "good" schedule, but jeesh.
  12. Can Dixie bounce back against the Blue Colonels? Can CovCath rebound from a tough loss to Elder? What say you? I'd be especially interested to hear those opinions of Leatherneck and the rest of the Highlands crew.
  13. I think Highlands has to establish some sort of air attack, or at the least, a threat of it. Kramer is obviously better than either CCH back (and world's faster), but I still don't think HHS will be able to move the ball all that effectively on the ground unless Elder has to play you honest. If HHS can get anything from Cecil in the air, they can win this game. If Elder can put 8 or 9 guys in and around the box and load up on the run, Kramer may find it hard sledding. I for one will be rooting hard for the Bluebirds this week to do what CovCath was unable to -- shut the GCL up.
  14. Okay, we'll agree to disagree.:thumb: Either way, Dixie has a lot of work to do to get the wheels back on so that they can make another run within the district once those games start. This season couldn't have gotten off to much worse of a start for them. Beechwood got exactly what they needed tonight -- good for them. :thumb:
  15. It was a one-hopper that Feliz tried to back-hand -- heck, Grande and Welsh couldn't believe it was a hit originally. Trust me, when you see it, you'll think it was a clear error.
  16. Don't know -- probably similar to the last 10 games between CCH and NCC. However, both of those things are apropos not at all to this conversation. CovCath has struggled with Beechwood, you're right, but the most loyal of Beechie fans will tell you they didn't spend a lot of those evenings / afternoons beating the Blue Colonels by 26. I'd expect more of you in a conversation then an end around. Oh well, that Belfry game must still have you sideways.
  17. You're right, my apologies. Tonight on ESPN they were talking about the co-Central leaders having their aces going, Harang and Carpenter. Yikes, I hope Suppan isn't going to start pitching well now.
