How's the new girl in the middle doing? Is she as good as they thought or struggling with the rest of the team?

Wow...didn't see that one coming! Any details?? I'm sure they will bounce back this weekend! Sometimes an ugly loss is a good motivator. Keeps a team grounded! They have a great coach and she will get them thru it!

When I was coaching, we hired a couple students who were athletes but not volleyball players. Paid them 20.00 each and gave them community service hours. They worked all 3 matches. We rarely had any problems. Totally worth the money!

Any thoughts? I'm going with NDA 3-1. I think Ryle can take one set from them! Good luck Raiders and Pandas!

IMO I'm not sure Ryle volleyball has a coaching issue. Team chemistry is a beast that is harder to fix. You could have the best coach in the world but if you're team can't play together, it won't matter.

T I should clarify...the young frosh coach - sorry don't know her name - seems to be really good and the girls all seem to listen and respect her. Maybe the other coaches could learn something new from her?

How did the local nky teams do?

If you all figure it out, could you let the coaches know cause I don't think they have a clue!

Kids transfer for a lot of different reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with volleyball. I know Grace had a bunch of issues this past club season with her back and was out for quite a while. IMO WV is a good place for her. She probably wouldn't of seen a lot of playing time at Ryle anyway.

Regardless of how Cooper played yesterday, nothing should be taken away from Beechwood and how they played! Coach Prindel has done some great things with that group. Ogle is a beast as a setter and leader on that team! We will be hearing a lot about these girls this year. Congrats to Beechwood!

But what you don't know and probably never will unless you sit on the bench with them or have a girl on the team, is what is the coach doing or saying to correct, inspire, motivate, teach, develop or just support them? Looking from the outside we can only blame a young girl for her mistakes - but it's so much deeper than that. If the only solution is to "put her hair up" that's gonna make for a long season for these girls.

IMO - The coach "lost" that team last year and hasn't been able to get it back. Maybe THEY should take a long look in the mirror and ask themselves why they are coaching? Sometimes the game progresses past the coaches ability and they need to gracefully step down. Sometimes the AD needs to step in and decide if he (or she) likes the direction the program is going. Unfortunately, there are a lot of very young girls caught in the middle of all of that. Makes for a tough season for ALL players.

There is no team on this list that will compete with NDA. That's not a surprise to most I'm sure...

I don't think there is ANY team in this region that will be a threat to NDA...with Morgan on the court they are just THAT good.

I didn't see this one coming! I knew Beechwood was good but I still thought this would be a win for St. Henry. Anyone have any Insight to this match? Any players stand out? Congrats Beechwood ladies!!

A few of us heard it from someone at NDA so not sure where the disconnect is? Regardless, she is part of a great program and will get some great training from the Ryle coaching staff. Saw her play this weekend. She is young and needs some work but she has the potential to be a crazy good player! When you say "headed to open" I assume that means they won an open bid? Unless the rules have changed, they are required to play open - regardless of injuries. USA is 2 divisions below open so that is a significant drop. She is an awesome addition to the Ryle squad! Excited to see how she develops!!
