She originally approached NDA but for some reason that didn't work out an she went with Ryle. From what I understand she will make an immediate impact on varsity - how could she not at that height? Not sure that she played on a "high end club team" - but they did win the USA division at GJNC this summer. Ryle will be good there is no doubt. IMO They won't beat the machine known as NDA but St. Henry might be a good game. Looking forward to see what happens this year!!

Both of my step daughters are public school kids in the Indianapolis area. They did not start playing vball until 5th grade at their local rec center. They both started playing at a very good club in 7th grade and caught up very quickly between the intense training and private lessons. It seems the girls that played early hit a certain point and didn't get significantly better, but my step girls improved dramatically! They are both playing vball in college now on the West Coast. I'm sure this isn't the typical path for most public school kids but it can be done. I know my husband and his ex spent A LOT of time and money on their volleyball, but ultimately it payed off. We have a lot of local girls that are great players and will be playing in college that are public school kids - the difference is the training they got in the local club system.

Yea I already heard about that transfer...anyone else to talk about?

Is everyone as excited as I am about the upcoming season? I've missed volleyball this summer and can't wait to see how the girls have improved or changed since last season. Other than the players we normally talk about, anyone new to watch for this year??

Does anyone know where some of these girls are going to play in college? On NKYVC 16s, I know the Bush girl is going to Purdue, but anything on the others? What about NKJV? Any recruiting going on there as well?

Got an update and Rebecca is staying at Cooper but Katie will probably be moving this summer after club season is over. Grandparents are sick and her mother is moving back home to help talk care of them.

Since we are talking rumors... I also heard that Cooper may be losing Katie Smith and Rebecca Ruppel as well? Ruppel moving to Boone district and Smith is moving out of state? Anyone know for sure?

Another example..Hayley Bush sophomore from Ryle just committed to Purdue! Yet not anywhere on this list!

Human nature? Absolutely! However, I would like to think that a coach that is responsible for developing and nurturing our kids would react differently....maybe not? It's called retaliation, and probably would only make the coach look guilty. I don't know Coach Isaac very well, but from what I have seen, I doubt that she would handle things that way. It's a tough situation for her if any of this is true. I wish the best for her. And actually the "wow" was more disbelief that the Cooper team and coaches are having to deal with this during such an important time of their season. Distractions like this are unnecessary...

. Why do you say that? I've only see Cooper play a couple times, but never noticed any issues between coaches and players?

I finally got to see another Cooper game last night, and although I think Katie Smith did really well (Boone did a good job of tracking her all night) I think the freshmen middle was also impressive! Not sure of her name, but I expect to hear more about her in the future! Some of the diving saves from Ruppel and Gillespie were amazing!! Who doesn't love a good running dive?! Cooper looked good but not sure if it was truly them or the fact that Boone looked - overwhelmed? I've seen Boone play much better and I'm sure they are disappointed. Only saw the first set of the Ryle/Conner game. Ryle IMO has some extremely talented players. Last night the whole team was getting really frustrated and defense was a challenge again. Conner did a good job blocking the Bush girls as well! I agree that if Conner had some heavy hitters, they could be a contender! Looking forward to the Ryle/Cooper game Thursday. It's hard to beat a team 3 times but I would like to see someone other than Ryle win in this district! This has been such a fun volleyball season to watch across the board. Sorry to see it head to a close....

Rachel Had 30 kills and the setter had 37 assists? Did she not really set anyone else or maybe that stat is wrong? NCC is definitely peaking at the right time!
