Not even close to the truth. Doesn't have to do with where he lives. It has to do with his eligibility. Of course he is in hoptown's district. You can't transfer because of sports. To be eligible the first year there has to be a qualifying event. There wasn't one. That's why most believe he will not be eligible this season.

The line is "roughly" 68/80.

One thing to note. hoptown has ended up with Christian COunty's best senior player the last 3 years. The Gray situation is an interesting one. There are some who think he may end back up at UHA within the 20 day period in which he can go back to his old school. Getting him elgibile will be very very difficult because he didn't move as Tyler and Gary did.

Tyler and Gary likely get eligible. Gray is the big question. He didn't move as Gary and Tyler have supposedly done. All 3 likely get ruled ineligible off the bat, all 3 will appeal. The question mark is on ledonald gray. From what I hear it may be a long shot for him to get eligible.

It's a message board. not sure why it shoudl be bad to discuss something that is obviously on the minds of a bunch of folks on the board. it will be interesting to see if the KHSAA pursues mroe recruitment charges now that they've nailed cordia. Rumblings that Eades at Christian County at the encouragement of stovall has turned in hoptown for taking the best christian county player 3 years in a row.

The last 20 years once a kid starts their freshman year at UHA , county it hoptown, they stay there. That has changed since Haworth got to hoptown. There have been some transfers. Anthony hickey made a move because of his dad changing schools. But the last 3 years that's changed with cager and now AJ Tyler. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. I know eades isn't happy. Who knows what will happen.

Pretty strong rumors about Tim Haworth and hoptown being the next location the khsaa spends some time. The last 3 years he has ended up with the best player on Christian county's roster... Eades and the folks at county are tired of it..

Good question. Replacing brown won't be easy but hollowell ran the point most of the second half of the season anyway with brown playing off the ball. By the end of the season UHA was the second best team in the region. I think they are the favorite to win region 2 keeping the Christian county district's streak alive. They may well have the best player in the region at 4 positions with the exception of matlock at center. Acree has reportedly made huge gains in the off season though.

Read my previous posts. Never said hoptown was unstoppable. In fact I said we'd learn a lot about Haworth against trinity. Read my above post.

Hoptown had a huge talent advantage Wednesday. Go back and read my posts about hoptown and you'll see that I've said the trinity game would be a test as to whether Haworth had learned a lesson from last years state tournament. Namely , would he , on the bigger college court, continue to press against a team that was having no trouble beating the press . The part that was shocking to me was how bad hoptown was on the offensive end. Bad shot after bad shot. They had simply leaned they could get away with them because they could dominate region 2 teams on the boards. Not going to happen vs. trinity.

This game reinforced what some around hoptown have said. Haworth can't win against teams that are close to hoptown in talent. Hoptown had state title talent. Haworth simply didn't have his guys anywhere near prepared. The offense was embarrassing to watch. Stupid 3 after stupid. 3. Clearly what trinity wanted. Since hoptown wasn't going to have the advantage on the boards they couldn't getaway with stupid shots. Then on defense when it became apperant that their pressure wasn't going to work, instead of backing off they continued to press and trinity continued to make Haworth look stupid . Same thing that happened last year. This time a team dismallted Haworth and the tigers. Last year one player did Lots of folks think Haworth is jumping ship as the tide shifts away in district 8 next year.

Exactly right. And the folks around Hoptown blame haworth for not letting Matlock work more on the perimeter, especially in early games this year and last year. Much like Calipari let patterson work from the outside. In crunch time, no doubt, put him under the basket. But from a development standpoint, he's done him a disservice.

From what I understand there are legit questions about the advice Haworth gave majors. No sense in discussing details. I think there are legit questions about the development of matlock. He's the same player he was as a freshman. Stuck under the basket ... Haworth has done a nice job. But folks are noticing things. He's for a tough comparison with the guys UHA sent on and the most recent group that won a title at Christian county.

There's a back story as to why he didn't get to UK as a walk on. Folks around hoptown are not happy at all with Haworth... Folks are Looking VERY closely at matlock and Edwards for better or worse and will judge Haworth a LOT on whether or not those guys get decent offers. Again, may or may not be fair to haworth, but there is a lot of chatter about this right now in "b-ball circles" around hoptown.

A. Hoptown is about 9 deep. Outside of Edwards and Matlock, the other 7 are almost interchangable. B. THey have 4 5'11 guards who are all lightening quick. Some say Q. Cager is their best guard and he comes off the bench. C. Their front line goes 6'4, 6'5, 6'5. All are pogo-stick type guys. Matlock is a bruiser. Plays bigger than he is. Same with Poindexter. D. They are probably the fastes and quickest team in the state 1-9. VERY quick. Rely on that quickness and speed a lot. E. Tre' Edwards has disapointed in some respects this year. he isn't the star a lot of folks thought he would be. BUt he doesn't really have to be. F. The biggest question for hoptown is this. There seems to be a blueprint on how to beat them. 1. Don't let them clobber you on the offensive rebounds. 2. Don't turn it over. 3. if you have enough big men, send them to the line instead of letting them finish around the rim and 4. works with 2, don't let them get out in transition. Hoptown is the most athletic team in the sweet 16. The issue for them is scoring when they don't force turnovers and dominate the boards.

Yeah, that's a problem for Hoptown. Some around Hoptown think Trinity is the tougher matchup for Hoptown than Ballard. Lot's of teams in the west tried to play this strategy against them. UHA did it really well the last two times they played and it almost worked in the district final. You have to win the boards and not turn it over against them. If you do that you have a shot.

Hoptown has more overall quickness and speed 1-8 than ballard. They don't have the Snyder type of kid but they have about 4 guys who are lightening quick and then another 5 who are about 6'5-66 and tremendous athletes. The issue HOptown will have is the extra 10 feet length on the court and 5 feet wide. It's much easier to beat a press on the bigger court. That's what killed them against Hawkins last year. Hopefully Haworth learned from that debacle and doesn't press the entire game if Trinity is shredding it like Madison Central did.

Yep. Hoptown got the football players and county got the basketball players. Seems things have shifted.

People keep questioning their schedule after the holiday tournaments. They played mutliple region winners and region runners up in the back half of their schedule including Taylor County, Owensboro and others... No, they didn't play ballard or Scott County but they did play a tough schedule. Easily the toughest schedule west of the natcher.

It should be noted that this streak was before integration.
