Should have said that the "missed calls" for Henderson weren't a complete misapplication of the rules.

But they didn't blow the application of the rule. And the last minute you had multiple calls reversed and all favored Henderson. UHA outplayed Henderson in regulation. Henderson was gifted the overtime 3 times in the last minute of regulation when it appeared UHA had wrapped it up. To deny this is ignoring reality.

Just looked it up. Only time the possession arrow comes into play is if the offensive player loses the ball or misses the shot. Since the bucket was made then the ball should have been awarded to Henderson with UHA getting 2 points and both players charged with a personal foul. Completely blown call. And yes , it was called a double foul. Official even used the term "blarge".

It was clearly called a block with an and 1 signaled. Refs then huddled, came to announcer and switched to a double foul and bucket was taken off of board. The ref even used the term "blarge". If the bucket is counted UHA almost certainly wins as that would have put them up 6 with a minute to go. Another blown call. Shocking

And it's brought up that the call before the blarge was an overturn against UHA. So in the last minute 3 calls, 2 of which were reversed to blatantly favor Henderson gift the game to Henderson.

Pivotal call was initially called a block (obvious block) on a made basket was switched to a "blarge" double foul and the basket was taken away and ball given to Henderson. Instead of a 6 or 7 point lead for UHA it was only 4 and the ball went to Henderson on the possession arrow. Then UHA scores with 5 seconds left but a phantom foul away from the ball is called as the ball went in the bucket. Bucket taken away. Then in first overtime UHA had ball with game tied and a chance to win. With no apperantly pressure on the ball, only token guy standing there a 5 second call is made. Terrible officiating. Refs in the process of robbing UHA in this one. Great game In double ot. Phantom offensive foul call on a made basket at end of regulation takes win away from UHA. Them a phantom 5 second call against UHA at end of first overtime forces second overtime. Add to that a "blarge" double foul call that would have given UHA a 6 point or 7 point with the and 1 with 1 minute left. Worst officiated game I've ever watched in person.

Hoptown is an easier drive for the region except for Henderson, Madisonville, Webster and Union Counties. It's the same drive, and in some ways a tougher drive to madisonville from Crittenden county (who rarely plays in the regional tournament) and it's easer to get to hoptown from trigg, Lyon, and Livingston. 50/50 for caldwell The advantage for Christian County is that you have the I-24 towns in the west and the Pennyrile parkway towns to the north who have a direct 4 lane route. To get to madisonville from eddyville and, Cadiz, and Livingston County is a bigger headache to get to than from henderson to Hoptown. That's just my opinion. Both are fine. Hoptown's gym is the best IMO.

As for those who question UHA being able to challenge hoptown. Consider that 2 weeks ago they led with 12 minutes left in the game and had a shot to tie the game at the end last week. Key to beating Hoptown is to battle on the boards and limit fast break points. UHA has proven they can limit their fast break points and were able to draw even on the boards last week. Hoptown shot terrific from the line, which they haven't done all season. That's what won the game for them.

Supposedly Union County and Henderson County threw a fit and demanded that the regional touney be rotated. The issue isn't capacity at gyms, it's parking. Union County will be a debacle and so will Henderson. Holding the tournament in henderson or Union is a massive disservice to the teams from the south end and west end of the region. Hoptown and Madisonville make the most sense. You could make an argument for Henderson, but Union county is a joke. If weather like this hits next year you would have to delay the regional tournament a week to hold it at Union which is located on a 2 lane road.

UHA is the second best team in the region when they are executing. Speculation around hoptown is that Hayworth is gone as he realizes UHA will be back on top in the city next year. The freshmen and sophomores for UHA played great. Brown is really the only guy they will miss. Lots of basketball folks around the city are also very discounted in matlock's development, or lack thereof. Pretty sad that a kid that athletic spends the entire night parked under the basket. He'll be an ovc player when he could have been a bcs type kid. Best 8 th graders and freshmen are at UHa now.

UHA led by 1 halfway through the 3rd. An injury to their point guard and hoptown's dominance on the boards was the difference.

Shew, hayworth's rule of "get a technical and you sit the rest of the half" sure is a thing of the past. A kid for hoptown dunked and did a slow, full, chin-up and then slapped the backboard. As if he was trying to get the technical. Hayworth's response? He laughed with the kid. I suspect Hayworth is gone after this year when things shift back to county and UHA. Especially considering a lot of folks with up and coming kids aren't at all happy with how he handled the Jordan major recruitment ( lied about situation at uk) and about how he has handled the development (or lack thereof) of matlock. It also speaks volumes that majors didn't get region poy last year and Edwards didn't make mr. Basketball finals.

Several neutral media members on Twitter saying LHC has been over the back all morning long (seems weird saying morning). First over the back called and it was less contact on teh ONE over the back. Officials aren't why uha lost this one though. They weren't patient on offense.
