This should really put a scare into Hoptown. This game shouldn't even have been close. They did not play well at all this game. UHA did a great job of slowing the pace when they could. Hoptown didn't play under control tonight. If they play like this again Henderson, they won't make it to Rupp.

UHA is the second best team in the region when they are executing. Speculation around hoptown is that Hayworth is gone as he realizes UHA will be back on top in the city next year. The freshmen and sophomores for UHA played great. Brown is really the only guy they will miss.

Lots of basketball folks around the city are also very discounted in matlock's development, or lack thereof. Pretty sad that a kid that athletic spends the entire night parked under the basket. He'll be an ovc player when he could have been a bcs type kid. Best 8 th graders and freshmen are at UHa now.

Very suprised at how close this game was. I still think Hopkinsville is the team to beat in the 2nd region, but they gave a lot of teams hope with this outcome.

lol I don't think a coach is gonna split town because he thinks another school maybe getting better. HHS will have a down year because of losing 6 seniors, but they have some very strong 8th and 9th graders who will contribute next year.

Matlock will have the chance to prove he can carry a team next year. He will have to do it for them to go deep into region/state.

Wow!!! Closer than I expected. Is Hopkinsville a Jykell and Hyde type team, never know which team will be showing up for the game.

When Hoptown looks good they look really good, though. I was impressed with their state tournament effort last year.

Hoptown should hope they don't have to beat a much improved UHA for the 4th time this year in the finals of the region.

Coach Shouse has done a good job at UHA.

I wouldn't put too much stock in this game. Not unusual for teams to have to really battle to get out of the district (or region) when they are clearly the best.

Heck, in 2011, UHA upset Christian County in the district final...and I'm pretty sure the Colonels did alright from there on out. But only if you consider a state championship "alright."

UHA might possibly be the second best team in the region. Henderson might have something to say about that.

Upsets in District Finals are virtually meaningless, especially if there aren't 3-4 really strong teams in the region. A district runners-up has won the 12th Region two of the last three years.

Several State Champions were district losers. We may very well have one of those this year (Scott County?).

I would favor an all-inclusive Regional Tournament (no District period) and you could play the first two rounds at the higher seeded teams' home court. This would force everybody in the region to play each other, but that's a thread for another day.
