I was being sarcastic about the extra week tacked on to the dead period. I knew it wouldn't take much to get you going. Sorry I should've used the sarcasm emoji. I disagree with you on the fact that these smaller schools are competing at a high level. Since 1999 (recorded history on khsaa.org) NO ALL A school has reached the finals of the 9th region. And only 6 times has an ALL A school reached the final 4 of the 9th region. Is that competing? Big schools rule. Im not complaining. We know what we are up against. Great challenge. We want to be the first All A team from the 9th Region to go to Owensboro. We have no intention of leaving St Henry...at least not for the next 4 years

Never said anything about surviving. Just don't portray this image of "we only have Ft Thomas kids in our programs". Just not the truth. We have no borders. We have kids from every area in NKY...well except Ft Thomas

Seriously? I don't know about all the "bigger" schools but I know there are a few non All A schools that draw from all of NKY...not just Ft Thomas.

And we are small schools....just think of what we could do with that extra week and the extra numbers that those BIG schools have

The dead period where it is now is an inconvenience to hs softball coaches who also coach travel teams. But the dead period is not intended for the coach it was put in place for the players/students benefit. Im not a fan of where it is but I don't think that it will ever change because the voice of those who oppose it is not a blip on the radar to KHSAA.

9th Region (in no particular order) Kaitlyn Becknell-St Henry Kai Dickerson-Ryle Taylor Lorenzen-Highlands Sam Grause-NCC Kayari Suganuma-Cooper Just to name a few.

7-Holy Cross 5-Lloyd 3-Ryle 2-Highlands 1-Scott Tiebreaker-Holy Cross

And in my opinion very good (and overlooked) umpire for the 9th Region. Time to put deserving umpires like Hannah and Sandman in the post season tournaments.

Great hire of Steve Hunt. He should've gotten a couple other boys jobs around NKY but their loss is Dayton's gain.

Great kid!!! She has a very bright future on and off the field. Fantastic family that we will miss greatly and very appreciative of the support they have given us.

After the last 4 years I was under the assumption that almost all of the umpires were drunk with the calls that Ive seen....

The only complaint I have with NCC is the slow infield. A couple of our ground outs wouldve been been base hits other places :wink:

Agree on the stands but the possibility of the street behind the field shut down by the crowd on the night of the finals would look cool.

Im thinking that 9th Region tourney needs to rotate between a select few venues. NCC, St Henry and Dixie. All 3 venues have lights and have ample parking. Or Florence Freedom...it can be done.

Im not making any public prediction (too many friends involved) but I sure wish this was being televised and/or recorded for replay. My son has a baseball game that caused my absence last night and will keep me occupied Thursday night. @Lawnboy13 see what you can do about recording/broadcasting! I mean why have a media booth and not use it :thumb:
