Casey out gained Mercer Rushing and Receiving in their last game to show what kind of night it was for Mercer. On the season Garrard has run a total of 387 plays compared to 319 for Mercer. That is total of 68 plays which is like playing an extra game. Mercer has had some big long plays, defensive and special teams TD's that may account for some of that. Not sure if the rain helps or hurts one team over the other. Garrard has more passing attempts and yards on the year over Mercer. Mercer has only passed 33% of time for the season. Agreed if Mercer plays the way they did against casey. One of the worst games Mercer has played all year. If Mercer plays up to capabilities like they have in other games they could roll. Offense out of sync for Mercer the other night against Casey.

I haven't seen Garrard yet this year. Marion likes to get in wishbone and run it regardless of down and distance or score.

Mercer is 6-1 coming off a bye week. Casey is 4-3 coming off a loss to Garrard last week. This is a district game and Mercer should be favored but at Casey County is never an easy place to play.

Can anybody put out 1st two round likely matchups for Mercer, Rockcastle and some of these teams we think will win their districts?

Garrard is a great place to play a game on Friday nights. Look forward to Mercer traveling there in a few weeks. Should be a great game.

Mercer returns the opening kickoff to start the 2nd half to get the running clock. Starters out early in the 2nd half for Mercer.

It’s the only ranking that has a meaning come playoff time. I don’t think BGP rankings ever helped seeding in the playoffs.

I think Mercer likes flying under the radar. Everyone talks about how deep and good 4A is and with good reason. Mercer beat Taylor who is a top 10 ranked team in 4A but Mercer is not good enough to be ranked in 3A. All rankings are meaningless outside of RPI which has Mercer at ranked 4th and they should win out the rest of their regular season games.

Mercer came out ready to play. The TD for Madison Southern came in 4th qtr with running clock against Mercer JV.

Southwestern is the favorite with being a top 10 5A team taking on an unranked 3A team. Against Belfry they ran the ball the majority of the game and I see them doing the same against Mercer. Taylor and Shelby are not bad football teams. Taylor has several D-1 players and I think the Shelby RB will end up being D1 if he stays healthy. Not saying either team are world beaters or tops in their class but they aren't bad teams. Southwestern will by far be the best team Mercer has played.

This will be a big test for Mercer to see where they are at and what they need to work on. Key will be if Mercer can hang with southwestern up front. I think Mercer has the skill guys to play with them.

End of 1st qtr Mercer up 20-0. Mayes had a TD run. Drakeford ran a punt back for TD. Bottoms with a TD catch.

Baughman is a Dude for Danville and it wouldn't surprise me if he breaks loose for a couple of long touchdowns. Mercer has to stay focused on this game. I know there is a lot of talk about Southwestern coming up next week but they better come out and take care of business tonight.

CAL QB throwing 15 TD's in 3 games with one pick is crazy. I know he doesn't have the big time offers that Boley has but he is a really good QB. I think CAL: has the advantage at WR also. This should be a great game with two of the best two QB's in the state. Game could go either way but give me CAL. It has been a while since I have seen them lose a game.

Hopefully Danville gets a few wins just not this week. They look to rely on Buaghman as he has ran for 298 of their total 334 total yards of offense. For Mercer they have been balanced. Mays has thrown for 368 yards with 2 TD's and 1 pick on about 50% completions. Rushing Drakeford leads them with 254 yards, Griffith has 223 yards and Mays 135. Receiving Drakeford leads them with 178 yards, Perry with 81 yards and Griffith with 59. Mercer has several weapons they can get the ball to so hard to focus on just one guy.

Mercer County is 3-0 traveling to Danville 0-3. Mercer beat Taylor County, Dunbar and Shelby County. Danville has lost to West Jessamine, Pulaski and Boyle. Mercer needs to stay focused and continue to improve. Danville looking to get a win after playing a couple of good teams in Pulaski and Boyle.

Mercer beat the #9 ranked team in 4A Taylor county and is undefeated. 6A Dunbar was the worst of the 3 teams they have beaten so far. You never can tell what will happen in HS football but their hardest game left looks to be a very good 5A southwestern.

Mercer wins 28-21. Had it on the 1 with 10 seconds and Mercer took a knee. Great game to watch. Mercer team is a tough out.

Mercer has some good skill guys and line play. Defense has played good so far and created some key turnovers. Mercer doesn’t have a lot of depth and several guys go both ways. Coach Yeast has them playing good football through first two games.

Nice. It looks like Shelby likes to run the majority of the time and have a big back running the ball. Mercer is balanced on offense for the most part maybe a little more run than pass so far.
