  1. CCH 2 NCC 0 Highlands 1 Dixie 0 Cooper 2 Boone 1 (PK's)
  2. I expected a closer contest than this. As YC says, this could have been a larger margin easily. Not much offensive push by Cooper in this one and they rarely looked to threaten. CCH was getting into some old bad habits with kicking the ball down the field without any intention or purpose and they still seem to have some players who are enamored with their own dribbling skills instead of making easy, simple passes to open teammates. Execution in the final third did not look too good. Defensively, CCH has been looking very solid lately. Big test vs. Summit Country Day next week.
  3. Right. One player scored 7 goals in that game for Scott. Must have been a proud moment.
  4. CCH up 2-0 at halftime. Lamb and Stegman with the CCH goals.
  5. LOL. Good for Calvary. Not too long ago, Scott was running it up as high as they could go on Calvary.
  6. I don't disagree that the fields are too short for kids this age but it's been this way for a long time and they just have to deal with it unless and until a better solution comes along.
  7. CCH JV is offensively challenged to be honest and I don't see them winning or possibly even making the finals. They beat a not very good Brossart team 5-0 in the first game last Friday and face NCC tomorrow.
  8. I believe the red card was for saying the two magic words, one of which starts with "F" and the other with "Y". I believe it was said to the official so there may be a bit of fallout on this one.
  9. Sounds to me like you've never been to their athletic complex. This isn't the Pit. It's probably a mile from the school up on a hill with on site parking, concessions, etc. You'd never know you were anywhere near Price Hill.
  10. True but it's not like there are hundreds of rowdy people at those games and their athletic complex is separate from the school, up a big hill and pretty isolated from the neighborhood. I doubt anyone feels unsafe there.
  11. Elder normally has police (in uniform) at their soccer games, which I thought was odd. They had one or two there for the CCH/Elder soccer game a few weeks ago.
  12. I will go with Trinity in this one by a score of 2-1. Whoever comes out of the 7th Region is the favorite for the state championship in my opinion.
  13. It was the one and only Wildman Walker on the mic for Seven Hills. I felt like I was at a Cyclones game.
  14. I'd agree that Ryle is the team to beat in the JV regional based on what I saw vs. CCH JV. I think they had probably 6 varsity kids in that game from what I counted.
  15. Nice little run that CCH is on right now and last night they were without Jacob Blom weren't they? Interesting matchup with Cooper coming Thursday.
  16. I believe he's done with bball but not sure. I have heard soccer is his best sport although he does not play club as far as I know. Very good defender.
  17. I don't have a full review of stats but they have been missing 1 or 2 players seemingly for the last couple of weeks. I know Stava missed a couple games with a concussion. Ventre and Dietz both out for the Ryle game, etc. In the end, they are still capable of winning some of these games without one or two players. They need all hands on deck vs Anderson to have a shot I think. Not sure if that's the case or not but we'll see tomorrow.
  18. I'd agree with Anderson winning this by 2-3 goals in a game that probably isn't really that close. This would be a good opportunity for CCH to try some new combinations, even though it is late in the season. The last three games vs quality opponents (Trinity, Highlands and Ryle), CCH has tallied two goals. Would love to see Griffin Lamb out on the wing with Blom on the other wing and Stava/Wulfeck up top. Much more dangerous lineup.
  19. I think the Ryle thread is the first time I've commented on officiating this year if I recall correctly. The officiating was terrible but not the reason CCH lost that game or the Highlands game and I'm not sure anyone has said that. CCH is struggling due to lack of quality in the final third and an overall lack of quality, possession style soccer that made them successful in the past. Those aren't excuses but merely viewpoints on their problems.
  20. What excuses? Did someone say they lost either game due to officiating?
  21. Congrats to the CCH frosh. Obviously Calvary has a pretty good freshman group and/or 8th graders coming up on their team.
  22. Really if you didn't see it you shouldn't comment. It was that bad. CCH keeper goes up to punch it out and Ryle player backs into him and they both go down. 100 percent of the time if a call is made its against the offensive player. In the end it didn't matter but it was really poor.
