Nelson for Greenup cuts the lead to 7. Ashland missed on a couple of good opportunities. Then hits the three. Ashland leads 39-29 with 3 minutes left in the third.

Dryden is a handful for Greenup but from what I've seen he's not being utilized how he should be in this particular region. Spends most of his time on offense out near the three point line. Until Greenup changes that he won't be a big factor on offense. Leads the state in rebounding I believe, which tells me that he needs to be in the post on offense. But what do I know lol.

Rankings are hard to get right in high school basketball. Most teams could lose to someone ranked below them on any given night. Just like when Ashland played George Washington earlier this season. A game most, including myself would have expected Ashland to lose. Yet Ashland goes to Charleston and beats them by 13 on their home floor. Ashland adjusted their press and half court defense after the half and in turn opened up their offense. Eventually pulling away to get the win.

I didnt get to see the Mason County game so I won't speak too much on that one but Mason County was the worst game Ashland has played all season, statistically. Mason has been playing better recently but they still aren't the best team Ashland has played this season by a long shot, yet if just looking at the score and how Ashland played in that one game then they must be the best team Ashland has played all season. I know you know better than that though. As far as Trinity goes they have had a knack all season for making good teams not look so good while keeping the game close. Trinity has just struggled to win those games.

4 quarters may blow a gasket if they look at the RPI from the KHSAA lol. I feel like the BGP committee has them about right until someone beats them.

Which two games have you seen them play? If you look up MyTownTV and scroll through some of their archived games you will get a better sample size to judge them from. It's hard to knock a team that has played a decent schedule and hasn't lost a game, just based off from seeing them in a couple of close games. There is no doubt in my mind that they are a top 10 team unless they have an off night. When they're playing well they're are in the top 5-6 range, imo. That said, they're still a couple of years away from this particular group of Tomcats peaking and I've been telling anyone that will listen that they're going to have problems against teams that have a good big man. Which they have, but they still haven't lost any of those games. Which is also surprising to me, they were due for a loss a while back, that just happens when you rely so heavily on your shooting ability. They're coached really well though and with the exception of the Mason county game where they were missing layups (this team typically doesn't do that) they have came out strong in the third quarter after making defensive adjustments at halftime.

My only chance to likely see them would be at Rupp. Was hoping today's game would have a video broadcast but I haven't found one if there was. I do believe they are top three in the state though without seeing them. Which is why I think they will roll an undefeated Elizabethtown team.

That's true, but I believe most of the talk about John Hardins schedule stemmed from last seasons early exit in the sweet 16. I get the feeling that people wanted to blame the early exit on the less than stellar schedule. But anyone can get upset and knocked out early in a tournament like the sweet 16. A telling stat is that with what I wouldn't call a terrible schedule, John Hardin is undefeated and leads the state in margin of victory.

Sounds like Bourbon County ran out of gas. John Hardin will roll Elizabethtown, imo. Their (ETown) schedule is suspect, 10 of their 15 wins are against teams with losing records. I honestly can't see them playing close with John Hardin.
