  1. Anyone know of a solid 5th grade girls AAU team in NKY??? Warriors and Royals would not be an option.
  2. A good month to be a KY Kid... 12u Kentucky Kids won at Omaha Championship Village in Nebraska going 8-1 on the week. The Kids went 4-1 in pool play, were a #5 seed and went on to win 4 bracket play games all by 1 run each, 2 of which were in extra innings including the championship game.
  3. Speaking of new coach, any leading candidates?
  4. So getting conflicting info about Bath Co coach. Is it Melanie Rogers or Troy Lee Thomas?
  5. Any word on interested candidates, Chris Douthit or others?
  6. I meant will McGegor/L. Schwartz attend Ryle? Rumors at end of last year was the possibility they'd look at other schools considering the (coaching) staff that was in place.
  7. Will the coaching change effect the decisions of two 8th graders (McGregor, L. Schwartz) or any others? I haven't heard if they were planning on attending Ryle or looking at other options.
  8. I'd think fast pitch is like every other sport...playing decisions come down to who gives the team the best chance to win. Talent is only part of the equation.
  9. Yes, went to Scott. She went on to a couple colleges to play basketball (Robert Morris College in IL & UM-St. Louis) before walking on at NKU for a year. She's a Special Ed teacher at SK so assuming move over to Boone to fill their Spec Ed opening. It will be exciting to see what she can do at Boone. SK has been absolutely loaded with talent and Coach Stowers is a heck of a mentor so we'll see what happens with Coach W at the helm.
  10. "Coach W" came from PioneerPride. Take a look at SK Pioneers coaching staff and you'll find a Coach W. No facts, just connecting dots from someone who sounds close to situation.
  11. Not sure how many coaches want to consider a job where the coach made the final four, won 20+ games and is asked to walk...:walk:
  12. Many schools wouldn't be able to field a team if you cut a player because of parents!!! More times than not that negative parent is effecting the players (negative) performance. Players are rarely as good these parents think they are...and the player starts to believe that and feels slighted. There are certainly the case of "less than effective" coaches no doubt, but more times than not parents are ridiculously biased. Like I said, if coaches cut players with parents bad mouthing coaches, we'd probably have about 20-30 teams in Kentucky
  13. True, most won't go 27-3 but its seems as if MC is usually reloading, not rebuilding (from my limited knowledge of the team). Most teams are in trouble when the lose that much...doesn't seem to be the case here.
  14. It looks like MC loses 5 of their top 6 scorers to graduation. What's the talent look like for those returning? I can't imagine they're looking at another 27-3 season next year when you lose that kind of offensive production.
  15. OPEN 1. Boone County 2. Gallatin County 3. Lexington Christian 4. Oldham County 5. Tates Creek FILLED None
  16. Say what you want but if most of your teams won both state championships, you'd likely have billboards posted all around the state of KY about your "Coach of the Year." Lots of great coaches in the 9th region. Just sit back, relax and enjoy. :thumb:
  17. The new coach may not have a choice if already set for next season (which many are done by now). How did Duncan come along this season? Would be good if they are able to develop an inside presence to take some pressure off of Foster. Agree that Anderson is a nice player. She seems to be able to do it all. It will be interesting to see who fills the large shoes of Nell.
  18. Seems not much changing on the girls side. Boys side has about 8 openings (so far) and sweet 16 has yet to be played.
  19. How do you find out who is applying for open jobs...just word of mouth? I'd be interested in seeing who's applying for some of these openings.
  20. Boone had the season that most expected of them. Nell wins some games that many others probably wouldn't. The question is what does the talent pool look like at Boone Co, especially with Nell retiring? They graduate their starting 5 (?) and only returning impact player is Foster. How will they stack up?
  21. Narrowed down or chosen and not ready to announce? I guess Russell pretty well knew who they wanted when they let Kidwell go. That's a quick hire.
  22. Interesting after the long search. Not the right fit for Coach Miles?
  23. My school of thought is "if you're not willing to solve the problem, don't complain." This would be a much shorter thread if many others followed that same advice.
  24. How long do they give Foust before he's in the hot seat, or is he already? Would Winstel take the reins if that happened? Rumor was she sat on the bench midway through the season but not sure in what capacity.
