I agree. Sayre and Nicholas County would have benefited in round 2 this past season if this would have been implemented. The three games that would have been an all out war in round 2 would have been Hazard vs. Middlesboro(which was a battle) and Newport Central Catholic and Louisville Holy Cross, and Newport and Covington Holy Cross(which was a battle tested game). The potential matchups in other classes from last season would be really exciting to see how the landscape of it changed.

I like the option of RPI from round 2 on. Class 1A would have looked like this for the 2nd round in 2026. East Raceland vs. Williamsburg Pikeville vs. Paris Middlesboro vs. Hazard Sayre vs. Nicholas Co West KCD vs. Bishop Brossart Campbellsville vs. Bethlehem New Cath vs. Louisville Holy Cross Covington Holy Cross vs. Newport

I felt like NL should have tried for the win instead of the tie. When your the underdog you go for it all. But Congrats St X on the win. They have a really nice team and I’ve saw many highlights of them this season and they look crazy good and athletic. Congrats NL on a good season as well.

All Knott the first half and the first 2 minutes of the 3rd. All Hazard after that. Hazard won this game of the defensive side of the ball. Hazard knocked there free throws down when they needed too.

Anyone know if any of the schools have challenged/legal charges for this ruling? There is really only about 5 teams who this multiplier wouldn’t hurt. Trinity and St. X aren’t really affected because they are in the biggest class. But CAL, LCA, and Cov Cath are the only others who I don’t think it would hurt. The rest of these teams would suffer from the tremendously. Best solution is bring back the playing up option(if you choose too), also have the option( moving up to the next class if you win back to back championships in the first two years of the realignment on a 4 year realignment scheme). But when the next alignment comes back around they move back to the class they was originally in (unless they once again request to move up). But when the team that moves up (if any) the next team at the bottom moves downs (if the team wants too, if not go to the next team and so on until a team decides to drop)replacing the team that moves up.

They may not, but with Newport being 1A now and the khsaa liking to have 4 teams per district, Ludlow could be the odd man out with playing the teams they use too. But overall I can’t wait to see the actual realignment when it comes out.

If these where the exact teams it would make the most sense because the other 4 teams from the previous alignment was already aligned like that. Eminence to Frankfort is 42 minutes. To Ludlow from there would be 1 hour and 21 minutes. From there to Trimble County is 32 minutes. Now Frankfort to Ludlow is 1 hour an 31 minutes. Frankfort to Trimble County is 1 hour and 6 minutes. But I do agree it be closer for them to play the other teams, but I believe I would want a chance to win district. Not saying they couldn’t win the other one, but they would be very favorable in the new one if it came down to those teams.
