Walton does not appear to have any bigs this year and this created match up problems on both ends of the court. Meier ended up guarding Ison on the perimeter which caused foul problems for SK. I get the feeling the last few games that SK has to learn to put teams away. Meier needs to stop the frustration fouls. Neace hit some big shots in the 4th.

Coach Clink achieved the quickest ejection in the history of basketball for contact with a referee about 5 seconds into the game. SK came out strong with post play and a couple of 3's in the first quarter. In the second, SK decided not to defend the 3 point line and Walton took advantage hitting 5/7 3's in that period. The game was close the rest of the way with SK making more plays down the stretch to scratch out the win.

What was the HC thinking when he scheduled SK and HHS on a back to back???? At least schedule a day off in between!

The Lady Pioneers are leading a charmed life IMO. They run their offense really well, getting great looks in the post, in transition and at the 3 point line. But they miss so many chippies. If Meier had hit half the chippies she missed she would have had a 30 point game and we would be talking about an emerging super star. I don't share the enthusiasm for the stall strategy by SK in the 3rd quarter. SK's whole style of play counts on wearing down the opponent for a 4th quarter run. By stalling, it gave the Lady Braves a chance to rest. It seemed to me that they were about to hit the wall as their turnover rate was increasing, which is usually a good indicator of fatigue.

Very competitive game. Grant had the lead for 3 quarters before the SK defensive pressure and foul trouble ate away the lead. The big guard from Grant County reminds me of the guard from Anderson that terrorized SK for two consecutive regional finals. Looks to be an interesting district season with Grant County and Williamstown improving, and SK and Walton finding themselves.

This is not just a NKy 6A issue. There is plenty of school choice in Lexington as well. Someone from those districts care to chime in if you are not too busy with the bball threads? Can someone from the western districts chime in on McCracken getting handled by Manual?

And we are back to the original point I made in this thread. There is no competing with the SD teams for championships in 6A. If KHSAA continues to compel the rest of 6A to compete, then it is high time the rest of schools make a strong statement.

Thank you and welcome to BGP. I was beginning to think I was alone in my perspective. Dixie and SK could combine rosters and still not come within 3 scores of Trinity. Application of the "HHS Way" at Campbell is a complete failure and refutes all of RCC9's arguments, which is why he won't go there.

Do you really get much satisfaction winning a tournament that includes mostly public schools? Wouldn't your players, coaches and alumni be more excited to win a tournament that included Indy Cathedral, Moeller, Elder, St. Ed etc? Do you perceive that you play on level playing field with the public schools?

Ah yes! The HHS way! Well, has there been anybody in a position to implement the "HHS way" in a NKy 6A school? Has there been anybody in place long enough to change the "culture" of the program? What are the performance results of such a program???!!!!

There is nothing relevant between girls softball and 6A football. You criticize, but put nothing constructive on the table. Other than you famous scheduling arguments what would you do to improve the competitiveness of 6A programs? Stop being a loud mouthed critic and put something constructive on the table for a change!

Why put standards on others you are not willing to put on yourself? You are the one who asserts that 6A publics could get to the level of T and X based upon better coaching and effort. You are more than willing to hold SK and Dixie to those standards , but you want to give CC a pass. You are a hypocrite!

Certainly schools can celebrate district and regional titles. However, here in NKy you have smaller schools just miles from you campus in ridiculously watered down classes that regularly appear in title games. You try and sell that your program on the basis of playing better competition, but every kid wants a trophy now.

Great! Now just sign up for one of the NKy 6a coaching positions and make it happen! I see your buddy Lickert has made tremendous progress with their 4th place finish this year and their only 6A win over Boone! Put your money where your mouth is, bud!

I don't think anybody in 6A would have a problem competing with HHS. HHS is not T or X. The theme of the thread is the dominance of the super district in 6A. I'm simply agreeing with that theme, but challenging the lack of response to it.
