Okay. Got some details and doing this off memory!!!

 

HHS doesn't shoot super well tonight, going 6-23 from behind the line and leaving some wide open shots on the table. However, they did get back to form on their free throws making 18-23. This team is almost always lights out from the line. Played good defense against and ONLY COMMITTED 4 turnovers for the game! Yes, Grant pressured them and attacked. HHS is very good with the ball and their top 7 can handle it very well.

 

HHS jumped out to an early lead, leading by 15 mid way through the second qtr. Then grant went on a 12-0 run to get within three. The last two minutes then saw the birds go on their own 11-0 run to lead by 15 at half. Birds never look back in this one from there. 6 birds scored in double figures in this one.

 

Was told Grant played a good game. Aggressive and physical. Macy Wright had a very nice game and took on the majority of the Birds pressure all night.

 

In the end, hhs ability to allude pressure, balance their scoring and apply their own pressure was just too much for the younger Grant team tonight.

What was the HC thinking when he scheduled SK and HHS on a back to back???? At least schedule a day off in between!

Highlands did play a good game all around . Very solid team. I saw both this one and the SK game and Grant looked tired and appeared at times to be going thru the motions in this one. I think it had a lot to do with coming off a hard fought and emotional game with their district rival the night before. I'm kind of surprised at the 3pt total for HHS because it seemed like every other shot they were draining a 3..

Regarding the 3's, you could be right. That was the stat I got from the stat guy on their way home. So it might have been a quick count. Usually pretty solid info though.
