The only reason they should play less than 7 innings is the run rule or run out of day light. Don't ever remember a girls high school JV basketball game that they only play 3 quarters !!!

We play 7 innings of JV if day light allows if the games are at our place. That's what we pay the umps for and hope to get in. Almost have to pick up JV games on the side to get them more opportunity to play. I know we're doing a Saturday Jv double header in a couple weeks with Highlands. The more games for them the better

Yeah your right just showing up and coaching wouldn't be any fun without getting the fields ready to. Last year Coffey wouldn't let me use his lighter for our propane tanks until he got a 6 run lead!! Rough crowd

Should be some good games for sure. I'm with you with the weather. I'm due to have good weather for once !!!

2 runs off a throwing error that I remember but not sure about the 3rd run but I can tell you that Dayton's players made some really nice defensive plays especially the pitcher & 3rd baseman and they weren't shy with the bats either they were ready to play. Beth is doing a nice job with them !!

I've been a coach for a long time and I have 2 daughters that has played multiple sports for a lot of different coaches . In my book its a NO NO !! You think the parents and players are ok with it but you might find out how they really feel when little Susie don't get the playing time she wants. I don't know the coach but if he's been there for 22 years he must know what he's doing and he's probably a great guy but its not worth the chance when he has other options . JMO

You talk so much about stats and you say the pitcher had 3 errors !! HMMM I'm not sure if she had any really. Your asking a lot out of a pitcher to cover all bunts down first base side even if she picks them clean she wouldn't of gotten either out with who was running. There's a reason the bunts went towards first !! As far as our awards like a said in a earlier post could of picked at least a couple more players for all tournament team and Shack would of been one for sure she did a great job on the mound for us and she knows what she means to our team as a player and person. Like every team its starts in the circle ! We set TEAM goals at the beginning of the year ( not individual ) Nothing wrong for players to have individual goals but they have to understand individual goals don't happen without the help of your TEAM !!!! 10th region All A championship - check Make a good run in at All A state (lost in semi finals ) - check Be the one seed in our district - check Win the 37th district - check Win the 10th region championship - TBD

First off IF your a camel fan I have no idea why you would say what you did about the 2 young ladies that received the awards ( right or wrong ) but that's your opinion ! As far as Brossart selections all 3 were well deserved and yes Shackelford & probably one more could of been selected without question. I know for a fact that every player from Brossart would give back every individual award from the entire season for the big one next week. And apparently you haven't seen BBHS play much but Childress is the 2nd basemen that had 0 errors & batted .800 for the district !!

Should be another good one between 2 well coached teams. Best of luck to both !!

It was nice hooking up with Lawnboy tonight as the freshman teams were playing I was able to get a tour of the new softball house. I was very impressed with the layout and view. Great job by everyone that had a hand in donating time & money.

After working on the field first pitch was 1:15 and I believe 5 games were played. Grounds crew did a nice job getting it ready !!

No doubt it was cold out their tonight. But its funny when softball players play when a field is a little damp or its cold its such a terrible thing but when my daughter played select soccer for years and it rained the entire time & the field was a muddy mess that's considered fun in soccer !! So for me I'm glad we got in 2 quality games tonight against 2 good teams and learned a little more about my team. The only issue I had tonight was we didn't have heat when we played highlands Coffey wouldn't let me use his lighter . LOL

Just for your info they set the fences at 225 because that's what they told me Ohio State tournament is set at. I called them about fence , bases, pitching circle , ect and that's what they told me they set them at. As far as Shelby she might be the best High School hitter I've ever seen and I've seen quite a few . She's fun to watch unless your coaching against her !!
