  1. The times were slow for some reason, My kid ran the 40 laserd at the Sparq few weeks ago and he ran 4.91 in Indy his best time was 5.38, thats a huge difference. Even the jumps were off. they measured his broad jump at 7'3 when he actually fell forwards both times and DQd. Not sure what happened but it is what it is. We have now been to a few different combines, Some paid for, some free. I personally think the best combines have a camp feel and have the 1V1 competition part. As i think game speed is way better than a timed speed. Thats the only negative of the Free ( Sparq and Rivals) there is no 1on1 competitions to show anything. I will say that both the Sparq and Rivals were way more organized than some of the NUC and others we have been too.
  2. Found out today that NCSA will throw in the Kaplan ACT prep course for free. that may make it worth it just to get that part cost like 300 bucks I think. Always good to get extra help of the education part....
  3. I was at the combine as well. It was a little unorganized but overall not horrible like some others I have been. All the times were clocked by hand. they were off in some by quite a bit. I timed my son who is no speed demon at 4.8 and 4.73. they had him at 5.2 and 4.59. So take it with some salt as it was definatly nothing official. there was plenty of talent on display but most of the guys that had good measurables didnt show much in the 1v1s. the true studs obviously done well but the lesser known guys that ran fast times did nada in the competition part from what I could see. The 1v1s in these combines i think is where the true talent shows. I thought the DB were better than the WR as a whole. the QB were strong but seemed like all of them wanted to throw the ball deep very few short routes were ran. So hard to see who had any touch or accuracy. There were some massive lineman at this camp they were all impressive size wise. i stayed with the DB and WR for the most part so I didnt see much of the Lineman in their drills and competition. Overall the camp was decent had great talent. Was good to see where my kid stands in regards to the talent that was there.
  4. I know ive seen this in the past but I cant seem to find it now. Does anyone have a list of the 1 day camps that are being offered showing the date its open? Coach J had one last year I believe but I may be wrong in who had it. Any advise please thanks
  5. Thanks for all the great feedback i really appreciate it...
  6. I have read on many sites how having a recruiting site like NCSA.ORG is the best way to get an athlete recruited. I have also been told that the cost for this is quite extensive. Not knowing exactly how much that is but on a very limited budget im not sure it would be worth it. What are the thoughts of using a recruiting site like this one? Does it work as advertised and any idea what the actual cost is? Anyone have any experience good or bad with them?
  7. A few he has sent that I know of are listed below. I know this isnt all of them but he has to send the email not me. I will help him as much as possible but I want him doing the work as much as possible. Lindsey Wilson Campbellsville Middle TN State Ill State Miami of OH Morehead State KCU
  8. This is great info Thanks
  9. Both of us have reached out to he coach to see if he could help and his response was literally " Im not sure what i can do to help" Not a lot of confidence there. He may be doing all he can im just not confident he has been or even knows what to do.
  10. We are signed up for it. I am looking forward to see how he stacks up against some of the best. Hopefully this will lead to some exposure
  11. Ok need some assistance. How does a parent get their child recruited if there is little to zero help for the coaches at the HS level? He is currently a Junior and we need some advice on how to manage this. I have had my child send emails with his video link to multiple coaches however I'm not sure if it just falls on deaf ears or not as there hasn't been much response. I know my kid is not a D1 athlete but I'm sure he can play at the next level. So what is the best way to get his name out there for smaller schools to see? I plan to attend some summer camps and such however i am having difficulty finding those dates for the schools he has looked to attend. Anyone have any thoughts on how to improve his exposure? thanks
  12. Kameron Hinkley 2016 DB from Bullitt East will be going as well.
  13. I was at the BE game Friday as I am for almost all of them as I have a son that plays on the team. the East team has been riddled with injuries this season, Missing your starting QB, RB, and a few lineman made it very difficult to win against a better than advertised JH team. Do I think East would have won Friday with those players maybe, maybe not. I do think the game would have been better for sure. It appeared the East team wasnt ready to play Friday as the first half was all JH, East couldnt do anything on either side of the ball. no matter who you play its difficult to win when you have 5 turnovers and 3 of those inside your own 30. JH pretty much did whatever it wanted in the first half on offense and East did nothing but give the ball away on offense. After the half East made some decent adjustments on defense and kept JH off the board in the second half. Im sure some of that was with the lead JH was a little more conservative. the sad part was there was no adjustment after halftime on offense for East. it was the same tired old offense scheme that works fine against the weaker teams but once you face an athletic team it dont work as well. The one thing the veer will not allow is for to make any sort of comeback. Its not a quick striking offense and when everyone in the park knows what your doing its easy to stop. Example. there were many times East would come out with 3 wide, JH counters with 1CB between the group of WR and kept the safety in the box, It looked like they would just spread the OLB out a little to cover the short slant. East never not once tried to throw out of this formation which is mind boggling to me. In the end JH was the better team Friday and deserved the win. the Defense was very strong and tackled very well. If East wants to advance in the playoffs they have to find a way to move the ball when the Veer is not working. you cant just keep pounding your head against the wall hoping it will eventually break. The east program has a lot of young talent at the skill positions and they will be good for next few years. the JV and freshman team just finished off another great season. the JV team has only lost 2 games in past 3 years running a little different offense but for some reason they dont allow that same offense to be ran on Friday nights. Congrats to JH for a well deserved victory they could be a sleeper for the next couple weeks....
  14. Thanks for the info. Triple option vs the Veer should be interesting!!!!!
  15. Anyone know anything about Shelby Co? Im going to the game tonight and was curious what kind of game to expect. I know what BE brings to the table but Shelby Co is a mystery. No Idea what kind of offense they run or what kind of athletes they have. I see they lost a heartbreaker to BC last week but thats all I know.
  16. BC has different OC this season, He knows how to use the weapons way different than years past when it was basically a little league offense scheme. Dont know much about SK but BC will move the ball and they have a couple HR hitters. As for BC not playing anyone I would agree outside the county rival East which was a very good game. Botched XP in OT gets BC the win. This BC team is very solid and has quick strike ability. The defense is what I would be weary of as I dont think the BC defense is anywhere close to as good as the numbers they have logged. Should be a good game.
  17. Botched extra point in OT, Missed FG in regulation, and lost QB to injury, and Central is much improved that about says it all..
  18. Bullittt East has 3 losses. Those teams they have lost to have a combined record of 20 and 1. East has a good squad this year lost a tough rivalry game Friday to Central on a botched extra point in OT. I think East is prolly about where they need to be. They should get back on track this week.
  19. I didnt think Morehead was able to offer schollys for football. Can anyone confirm if i am incorrect? Regardless Im sure Trevor will be playing on scholly somewhere. Congrats
  20. Coach J even with some of the confusion and weather it was still a good camp. Dont want anyone to get the wrong idea, it was successful and we are looking forward to coming back. Please let us know when you are having the next one and we will have some of our kids there.
  21. bball I agree. Way to much time doing the measurables. I think this is part of the understaffed i was talking about because it took long time at each station. I know at the 40 they only had one guy writing down times but had 2 runners going at a time. that caused some delays in getting everyone through. Only had maybe 30 mins of 1 on 1s. From what i seen there were some talented athletes there competing in the competition part.
  22. Went to small prospects camp at Ballard yesterday was pretty good camp. Little unorganized but was impressive how they changed gears when the rain came without skipping a beat. I think there were about 100 kids there and I seen a handful of coaches. Spoke with a few and son got some contact info. Only critique was it appeared understaffed. Don't know if they got more kids than expected but this is most likely the reasoning for the unorganized feel. other than that which wasn't horrible at all the camp was a success. Wish there were more of these small school camps like this one it was greatly beneficial. thanks Coach J look forward to coming back
  23. Thanks for all your responses. I have never and will never talk bad about a coach in front of any players. As a AAU softball coach I know this just leads to worse situations. the reason I think he can play at the next level is because the coaches and some of the small school camps and combines have made that clear. Hopefully he will get his chances and make the best of them. I for one will not be transferring just because running from the issue isn't how I want him to learn to handle adversity.. thanks again for all the responses It interesting to see how many different opinions are out there.
  24. Ok here is the scenario. My son is a upcoming Junior and he wants to play at the next level and I think he could play at a small school maybe D2 but probably NAIA or similar. He has expressed his interest to coach but seems to be falling on deaf ears. Last year he was JV starter in secondary position at safety and got zero touches at RB. This year he wants to move to the backfield and run the ball some to be able to have some game footage to send to coaches. He has been to many combines and such this spring and was invited to top 100 camp in GA where he excelled there and got an invite to top prospect elite camp next month. So I think he is more than capable if given the chance. Problem is there is already a good RB there just attitude problems likes to skip out, he hardly ever shows up for any football activities ( conditioning and spring ball ). He says he has other things to do. He might be telling the coach something else I'm not real sure but this is what is relayed from other players. From what I understand he has no desire to play at the next level but Coach continues to play this RB despite his abnormal amount of absences and attitude. I have tried to discuss with the coaching staff my concerns and that I would like to see him be more involved but I am told that my son needs to address the problem with the staff not myself. I 100% agree with this except it is ignored when he questions it. So how do I get my son recruited when there is little to no support from the coaching staff at the school? We go to camps and combines as much as we can but that gets expensive real fast. Any suggestions? Thanks Concerned Parent
