theguru Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 1. Bowling Green at #3 Warren Central 2. Pulaski County vs. South Laurel 3. Warren Central vs. #1 Bowling Green 4. Anderson County at Franklin County 5. Bullitt East vs. North Bullitt 6. Southwestern vs. Lincoln County 7. Bullitt Central at Shelby County 8. North Laurel vs. #10 Madison Southern 9. South Oldham vs. Scott 10. Madison Southern at #8 North Laurel
Purple88 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Guru, This looks good. Couple things: 1. Is Iroquois in the 10-15 range? 2. Big game at the top as cross-town rivals (BG v WC) take the field in the regular season for arguably the last time in the same State Classification (5A). 3. Waiting to hear from JumperDad as to Riley Hall's potential injuries sustained in the Mad South game. He is a big time high school QB. Hope the young man isn't hurt bad.

ATLCat Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Based on what I saw on ESPNU Bowling Green may as well be calling Josten's up for a ring fitting. Even with Hall in the game Pulaski to me did not look like a team that would even advance out of their Semi-State in Class 1A, 3A, 4A, or 6A. I also think Anderson County is over valued at #4. They lost to #9 South Oldham already and Boyle County doesn't appear to be their traditional dominant self and yet they stuck the Bearcats pretty hard.
Jumper_Dad Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Broken Collar Bone for Hall according to the newspaper. It is his non-throwing shoulder. What's the down time on an injury like that? Here is what is ahead for Pulaski... 1 Week South Laurel (Dist)...can win without Hall 2 Weeks Southwestern (Dist)...can win without Hall, but will be tough 3 Weeks Bowling Green (Non-District)...no reason to rush him back for this meaningless game 4 Weeks Rd 1 Playoffs...can win without him 5 Weeks Rd 2 Playoffs...can probably win without him 6 Weeks Region Finals...IMO Need Hall back by this week 7 Weeks Semi-State 8 Weeks Finals Probably wouldn't need Hall until 5th or 6th week...if he can make it back by then, Pulaski could be right back in the thick of it.

Pulaski is much better than they looked in that rain storm...I hate defending them...but with Hall in the game I think they win 1A, 2A, 3A easily and have a chance in 5A
Purple88 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Jumper Dad, Thanks for the update! Sounds like he can be back for the playoffs; that's great news for Maroon fans and football fans. I forgot you are a Somerset guy right? Do Somerset and Pulaski ever play?

catfan09 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 The team who barely beat North Laurel with Hall also suggests they are vulnerable. The score doesn't do the game justice (two goal line miscues that can't happen going forward), however, NL is a team that ALWAYS plays Pulaski close & going to their house isn't an easy W. North Laurel is very capable of making a run in the playoffs. They're getting better with each week. Riley was in a car wreck the week before Lincoln & it seems like he's been a bit off since that.. Prayers for him in his recovery. I fully expect Pulaski to rally behind him. SW will be a HUGE game.
Cynical Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Pulaski is much better than they looked in that rain storm...but with Hall in the game I think they win 1A, 2A, 3A easily and have a chance in 5A 1A no way they beat Mayfield...as in ZERO chance in that game...and I would give thyem very little chance against Beechwood. 2A is reasonable. 3A no way in my mind that they beat Belfry or South Warren. I would bet heavily against them against Central and Tilghman due to the sheer speed differences. 5A I'm gonna come right out and say it...had Mad. Southern had Harris, I say Mad. Southern wins that game. Pulaski looked small and slow...and that was against a bad team without it's one-man-show. I have a hard time believing the team I watched on ESPN could beat Warren Central. That said, I do think Pulaski is an excellent football team, but a state champion quality team, beyond Hall and the receiver #2, I just don't see it.

Everyone is different. I've seen kids break that collarbone in August and miss the whole season.

After North Laurel almost beat them I wrote them off.
