I don't disagree with anything you said there There is no perfect scenario-

That's the only place it matters. We are just a bunch of old men reliving our AL Bundy glory days.

But since we are just fantasizing that KHSAA will ever do anything why would we leave in the current hot topic of East/West and the Jeff Co. problems? We have discussed before the Belfry vs. the west issue before, but regardless Belfry has fared well once they got to the championship game. However their have been instances in some classes where there were blowouts in the final, leading into the "the real championship game was in the previous game" discussions. Unfortunately some of those do have merit. If we ever want to make it --RIGHT-- we will have to figure out the travel issues which personally I think is overblown. If you are 16 seed traveling 6 hours to a 1 seed, that is just the penance you pay, the 16 seed couldn't win it all if they hand picked each game thru the tournament. When you get closer to the middle of the pack, #8 up they should be quality enough teams that the travel shouldn't completely blow their chances out of the water. Perhaps the final 8 could play a neutral sight? WKU, Georgetown, and Campbellsville all are in the middle part of the state. To be the best, you should have to beat the best- Football is a game played by men who give their heart and soul, blood, sweat and tears all year, the best teams deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. It cheapens the game to give a team a shot just because where you live. Its' a tough subject without a perfect answer, but the KHSAA owes the players a better format.

There seems no way to avoid travel and maintain a format where the best teams are rewarded for their play. I would like to think it could seeded from the polls, but whose polls do you go by, and we know how polls can be flawed. Most years it may not matter, but for instance this year you may have a contender outside the top 8 depending on which poll you go by. Case in point I do not remember which one but just a week or two ago Lex Cath had dropped out of one poll. Seeding district champs followed by runner ups could be an answer, are there any districts with 3 solid contenders? Are there any districts with no contenders? I guess there is no perfect answer, but any would be better than our current system. We don't do it in either baseball or basketball, so why is the KHSAA so adamant that we cannot change the football format?

It's funny really that you did not even read my whole post. I was only noting that ATL had called us flawed while he wasn't noting Belfrys loss and the Lawrence game. I said I have respect for Belfry and that they could very well be the best at the end So apparently you are the only whiner

I would say when you lose to Marshall, it is time for something to happen. Trigg use to always play better than they did this year, even when they lost they would challenge you, this year things did not look very good at all.

You should be a politician, you can talk in different directions so quickly the ends run together. You have played one good opponent, and got blown out. Your next game against Lawrence you squeaked by after a sloppy turnover fest. I am not sure where you believe you are so superior at? We have played 1) Mc Cracken #7 in 6A 2) Central Hardin (who was healthy and ranked at the time) 3) Mayfield #1 in 2A (winner of about a million state Championships) 4)Graves County, last years 5A runner-up (knocked off that little team known as Bowling Green) 5)Madisonville -4A 6) Caldwell-#5 3A (most fans know it would have been a much better game had we not lost our starting qb in the first minute of the second quarter) 7) Trigg- 3A district 8) Union co.- 3A district Here is where I stand on our debate, I am not saying PT is without its' flaws, but Belfry has not shown themselves to be exactly a juggernaut either. I just do not understand how your favorite activity in all these discussions is to bash PT (and to some degree Caldwell) and discredit any ranking they get while completely overlooking problems on your own end- Did you maybe play back in 85 and swallow some sour grapes? I have no beef with Belfry or its faithful, they could possibly be the best team at the end of the season, but your antipathy for PT gets old, give it a rest-

ATL, I find it humorous that you are so quick to point out both PT's and Caldwells "flaws" as you say, while turning a blind eye to your own. You know what they say about glass houses don't you?

PT's offense is fine. Still need to shore up the defense. Our skill position players are as good as anyone's, which is why we remain optomistic. I don't think Union nor FC will give us a good idea where we stand yet. The final game w a good Murray team should be a good measuring stick.

Glad to see them back. Wish they could get their yearly match with PT restarted. Had some epic battles back in the day.
