:thumb:. Very misunderstood part of the rules.

It's fun. Crazy scenarios all around. Nothing will be final until the last game Friday night. Never even thought about the angle of Russell winning Friday and it still not being enough. I think that's wrong. I think their win against Boyd would top West's best next win. In other words, Raceland could get back on the right track and send a rival to the 2 seed with a win on Friday (and a little help).

Out of district doesn't matter. It's the best four teams you've beat regardless of in or out of district. The only exclusion is teams in the tiebreaker, as you can't cou twins against each other. If one of the teams in the tiebreaker has beat the other two that team automatically wins.

In any case a win by either Russell or West eliminates the potential for a head to head tiebreaker. A Russell win and it would take an extremely unlikely chain of events for them not to be the 1. Would take a Russell win, Ironton loss, Boyd loss, And wins by East, Nicholas and Powell. So mathematically, Russell isn't even truly in charge of their own destiny. Not likely, but since we're going trough every scenario.

Scenario that leads to head to head: Raceland beat Russell Powell beats LCA East beats Fleming Bath beats Nicholas Magoffin beats West Ironton wins and Boyd loses So it's possible. But it will take those five upsets. Maybe another combo could work, but it would take something like this.

And without figuring, I don't know if West could tie with a loss to Magoffin. So it may be mathematically impossible to come down to that still....

Don't change your story. You thought if the initial 4 teams lead to a tie it went to head to head. It's fine, just a misunderstanding. Hard for it to come down that far. Anything outside those five upsets happening simultaneously, along with West losing to Magoffin, and it wouldn't work out. 6 upsets happening the same weekend would be par for the course this week, but any favorite holding serve and it cannot come down to that.

It could in theory get to head to head but that would take a crazy amount of events taking place. Fleming losing to East, Bath losing to Nicholas, Powell beating LCA, Raceland beating Russell, Ironton losing. That's 5 upsets. Hard for that to take place.

They cannot. They tie until the last win. If it gets into that: Raceland beats Russell West beats Magoffin which is counted in their 4 team total -win 5 and 6 for both are the same - win 7 is eliminated because it is part of the three team tiebreaker -Win 8, would be the difference. West would have win 8 and Russell wouldn't. East has one victory. Tie broken. It CANNOT get to head to head. If West loses to Magoffin they lose any claim to 1 because their four win total will include East who won't give them enough to tie.

Then you simply refuse to follow the rules of the tiebreaker as stated. Don't know what's hard about a written rule in the bylaws????

Hard to understand the tiebreaker until you start writing it down and going through all scenarios. I could be wrong with the figures, but I'm not wrong with the process, according to my understanding of the rule.

Again, most likely Russell wins the tiebreaker. Math isn't my favorite but they'd have overwhelming odds to win it. However, it is not guaranteed.

No you should. You conveniently skipped tiebreaker 3, which ironically is applied before 4. 3 is what I'm telling you settles it. It cannot get to head to head if it gets to step 3. Not possible. Once again, you're making stuff up or not carefully looking at the rules.

Also factor in play would be Boyd. If they win this week and Raceland wins, West would need Nicholas and Powell to win.

Granted, West needs help to tie. But wins 5 and 6 are the same (Lewis & Pendleton). Win 7 doesn't count as it's part of the tiebreaker. If West wins this week, they'd have the extra win, worth one as East already has a win. Now for West to tie, they'd need help (Nicholas beating Bath or Powell beating LCA). Neither are favored but it could happen.

If they end up tied, with Russell losing to Raceland, West wins. They will be counting the same wins until West's extra win against East. Worth one point. West would win the tiebreaker. So yes, you're guessing.

Not quite. Boyd, Powell, Nicholas, and Bath will all effect the seeding without a Russell win this week.

What are the chances Powell beats LCA? I felt like they were a good team even in game 2, though the game ended in a running clock. Brewer has done a heck of a job. Hope they continue to do well.

It does not go back to head to head. You continue to look at wins for teams you've beat until a tie is broken. No where in the rules does it refer back to head to head for a three team tiebreaker. Now if they are tied after all opponents wins are exhausted, the commissioner settles the tie. He would likely go with head to head but doesn't have to. Rules are available online, so let's not guess or make things up.

Too early to tell on points. It would be very close. Lots of scenarios in play.

West also beat a team that beat Russell at home...

Im of the opinion that most times you don't lose "football players" to soccer. Totally different mind set, if you think soccer is a better alternative than football, odds are you wouldn't help the football team much. Probably athletic enough, but different mentality is needed for both sports. Not calling one more manly than the other, but from what I've been around kids may like the idea of both sports, but not the true participation of others. Promoting soccer as a safe alternative to football is ridiculous. It is a sport with contact without a helmet or pads. To me one of the biggest reasons for the increase is the amount of input parents get in soccer. If you're starting at 4-5 years old, chances are 3-4 parents are coaching. It many areas it may stay that way through middle school, or in some schools high school. Football and basketball are much more likely to have an established coach in place, though obviously parents still coach from time to time. While soccer is not something I will ever be interested in, it's a good option in schools for kids. Kids desperately need options for participation in schools. Soccer getting popular will likely impact the numbers of kids playing football, but not the quality. Lots of schools have good football and soccer programs, so the impact on both must be minimal. I would argue that the quality of baseball and basketball will probably suffer more in the long run.
