H Factor

It was a single. Batter has to hit one on the roof to count as Homerun.

Ethan Kavanaugh leads off the bottom of the 10th inning by stretching a single into a double. Kyle Winkler sac bunt to move Ethan to 3rd. Tates Creek intentionally walks Mason Schwalback and Joe Steiden to load the bases. Drew Rom drives one off the school building for the walkoff. Exciting game to watch!

According to radar gun at the game, Austin touched 87 mph.

Another quality start for Stephen Grimme. Nolan Turner came in relief and Drew Rom closed for the Birds.

Shout out to Grant Summers for 2 doubles and 4 rbi's. He was one foot short of a grand slam.

Yes with help. They need more confidence!

Birds had plenty of chances to score but just couldn't get the timely hit. Stranded over 10 runners in scoring position. They need more confidence in pressure situations. Birds scored their two runs on a single by Sam Hennigan. Joe Steiden made a diving catch in left field. Defense had a couple of throwing errors. There will be a lot of different defensive lineups this year because Birds are deep at infield players. Play of the game goes to Elder. Up 4-2 top of 7th, runner on 3rd, and Panthers lay down a 2 out bunt. Batter beats out the throw at 1st. You gotta love 2 out bunts!

I heard the scouts requested to see him pitch on Wednesday 3/28 at Boone County.

Birds are scheduled to play Saturday 4/7 vs Sycamore, Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th, and Thursday 12th.

Every kid needs a little luck!

Exciting first half. Beechwood looks prepared and Corbin doesn't. I'm expecting a lot of adjustments from Corbin in second half. I really like Beechwoods hustle. Their offense moves quick to the line of scrimmage and players hustle on and off the field.

I'd like to see Beechwood stop Corbin's running game and force them to work on their pass offense.

I predict Corbin's defense will shutout Beechwood. Their defense is stingy so it doesn't matter who has the ball for Beechwood!

Defense scored twice. Pick 6 and fumble picked up and ran in from 50 yard line.

I'm hoping the Dirty Birds remember last years loss!

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Highlands — Kyle Rust (MVP), Drew Rom, Kyle Finfrock, Sam Henigan. Conner — Ben North, Tim Sherman, Nick Craddock. Dixie Heights — Isaac Oelling, Bryce Smith. St. Henry — Will Brady, Jackson Haddle. CovCath — Mo Thiel. Beechwood — Evan Schlinger. NewCath — Brian Wells. Cooper — Ryle Bridlkey.

Highlands: Drew Rom, Kyle Finfrock, Sam Hennigan, Kyle Rust-MVP. Not sure of the rest.

Its going to be interesting who the Birds throw on Tuesday. Doty pitched earlier vs Beechwood and shut them down. Doty seems to get fired up vs Beechwood. Birds have not faced Cooper due to bad weather. Birds split with St Henry with Rom getting the win and Dreves getting the lose. St Henry is a very dangerous team. Do you go with Rom on Tuesday because Beechwood hasn't seen him or Doty because he pitches well vs Beechwood?

Congrats to Justin! Great time to step up. Congrats to CovCath!

Lots of hits and lots of errors!

He trapped it! Lol

I received info last night that Hunter had 13 K's, 5 BB, 3 Hits, and 2 runners reached on errors.

The hit count is probably low as the strike out count is probably little high. St H beat Highlands with out any question. I'm a believer. They play tough defense, make very little mistakes, and battle at the plate. They are a very good team!

I've seen Coldiron twice now and both times I was impressed with his bat.

Hunter Dreves pitched a great game. His command is improving every start. Unofficially Dreves went 5 2/3 innings, 13 K's, 5 BB's, 4 hits.
