Much respect for the Camel players, coaches and program. Your kids played great, but, some how, our kids figured out how to defend. I don't know what the rushing figures were, but in this game, SK controlled the line of scrimmage running the ball very effectively, while mixing in the occasioonal pass. This was a very clean game with no turnovers and very few penalties. This was a game between two teams that deserved to be in the playoffs.

You are also not considering that SK is no longer open enrollment. Even staff members are having difficulty getting their kids in. Overcrowding at SK is getting serious. Starting to cause some staff turnover.

My reading of KHSAA regulations is that high school coaches are prohibited from contacting middle school athletes unless they are part of an established feeder system. Other than that, there is not much applicable regulation or restriction untill the athlete actually participates in varsity sport. Of coarse , schools have camps all the time, so there must be an exception in this case.

Elaborate please. I really don't follow Boy's BB. Are you implying that Dixie has open enrollment students in their program? If you are, open enrollment is coming to an end in Kenton County. Simon Kenton is already closed enrollment.

Unfortunately, the converse is not true. Not all programs are in a position to be able to market themselves to athletes beyond their districts.

Even if this had been an actual freshmen instead of an 8th grader, I believe the response would have been the same. And really the root issue is taking a roster spot from someone that is committed to being there. This is all happening in the shadow of events last year where a parent used the threat of transfer to insure playing time. They were immediately shown the door. Now instead of being handed the freshman qb position next year, he will have to compete for it at Cov Cath. And of coarse, that is about $30k that is not going to be available for college.

What is the alternative? Let someone whose commitment is insincere occupy roster spots in multiple sports displacing others who are committed to the program? Did we not just go through this last year? Coaches who make next to nothing while investing 100s of hours per year of time are not fond of developing their competition.

Its not rumor. It is fact. Mr. Radke's parents evidently did not learn anything from how the Bright's were dealt with last year. It was very foolish to walk into a CCH public open house then show up for freshman practice the next day?

Go to the bb forum, read the freshman bb thread.

Better to weed out all those that are uncommitted as early as possible, regardless of how talented they are. It makes coaching much more effective to have kids that are committed to being here.

They are not oriented to attracting tuition students.

Just toss out KHSAA and have everybody openly recruit! KHSAA is impotent anyway. Why should it just be the Catholic Schools that get to have open houses?????

The attraction is an easy path to a state title. Easy competition. Inflated statistics.

I'm still trying to figure out how SC was not competitive against Highlands. They definately have the talent to compete with HHS.

If you are a strong running team with a good defense, you can bring a young qb along slowly. You can also design plays so that the completions are easy, and every so often, take a shot deep down field. The thing you cannot do is have a younq qb passing, when the defense expects pass. You can't ask a young qb to win games for you.

I believe, but not entirely sure, that Morgan has strong ties to Ryle. I believe his father is on staff and that he may be a coach in the middle school program. BW might be a possibility, but the field of incoming freshmen qbs at Cov Cath is crowded.

As much as a beating that Ryle has taken in this thread , after giving HHS what 6, 8, 10 games, why would any NKy program want to schedule HHS? Is there no such thing as graditude or humility in Ft. Thomas!
