The biggest problem we are facing now is that AAU on the girls side is dying a slow death! The 2019 & 2020 girls Division 1 tourney only had 4 teams in each age division. If the numbers don't increase we will have to start looking to play in other events. Almost all of the teams there this weekend were Northern Kentucky teams. Where are all of the other teams that usually attend? Louisville? Lexington? Eastern Kentucky?

Ryle pushed a lead to 21 late in second quarter and led by as many as 19 in the 3rd. Took everything they had to hold Boone off at the end.

Ally will be the perfect compliment to Liza. They played a little bit together at the end of the AAU season and played pretty well together. Ally has a good face up game and can make shots. I think she will be very comfortable playing at the 4 in college.

Congrats Ally! Amazing player and an even better young lady. I agree with the article and believe that Ally has a very high ceiling and will be a very good college player.

Who are some of the younger players?

We have a number of Grant County girls in our club. Great group of girls! Great families! Coach West does a great job with his program. Working with him the last couple of years has been a lot of fun for me. I have a lot of respect for what he does and believe him to be a very good coach!

Had an opportunity to watch Abby Owings play last night at Thomas More. They hosted Ohio Dominican for a scrimmage. Abby started at point guard and played very well. She really leaves it all on the court!

Macy didn't play a lot during the past AAU season but she did get an opportunity to play in a couple of the the exposure events in April and July. As much as I would love to see her continue her career she will be going away to college to play golf.

I totally agree with this. On the better middle school teams the top 5 players get half the playing time as the bottom 5 players.

I really like the 2018 team that Legacy has. Lexi Held and Asia Mitchell played at Cooper with my daughter. Two fantastic young ladies! Do you have any other high school teams? Rosters?

Macey Wright played a very limited AAU schedule this past season because of golf and GSP. But in the limited time that she played she caught the attention of a number of college coaches because of her versatility. She is able to play anywhere on the floor both offensively and defensively. She is one of those players that makes everyone around her better.

I had a chance to see Tubbs a couple of times this summer. She is a very talented offensive player. It will be interesting to see how her first season in Ky goes. I think she will be among the top 3 or 4 scorers in the region.

Very excited to see Lexi Held and Hailey Anderson this year. Two very talented young ladies that will take on a much bigger role this year.

Conner is going to be a much smaller team than years past. They guard play will have to be very good for Conner to make a run. Best wishes to Hunter Hendricks in her rehab. She is going to be missed.

The one thing that has impressed my the most about Madison over the years is her basketball IQ. Very intelligent player! Madison works hard on both ends of the floor and has become a very complete player. I look for her to have a very nice Junior season at Ryle.

Some of the players on the list don't have a true position. Schwartz and Mayes are two examples. I agree with your assessment of Combs. I love the way she plays. Not sure she has a true position either.

RC9, great list. I was going to take a stab at it as well but figured I would have forgotten to many players. The only position I have ranked different would be the 3. I think Mallory Schwartz is the best player on your list at the 3. I also don't think I would have Mayes as a 3. I think of here more as a 4. I would also move Lexi Held up on your list to the 5 ranking. She is going to be fun to watch over the next couple of years!

Shame for Hunter and the Conner team. My team ran into her at the end of the AAU season. She was playing great basketball. She hit 9 or 10 three's against us! Best wishes to her in her recovery!

Why did you decide to turn this thread and take a shot at the Shining Star Sports program? I am not sure that I need to defend my program to you. But our program works very hard for the young ladies that enter our program. They play a highly competitive tournament schedule and play in events all over the country. Our teams play in top level exposure events and have done very well (won the Deep South last year with the Class of 2014 group). We have very good relationships throughout the country and will be playing in a top tier exposure league this upcoming season. We have only had two graduating classes come through our club. Not sure how many D1 and D2 athletes we were suppose to have to meet your exposure criteria. Jordan Scott and Sarah Futscher both signed D2 scholorships. Nikki Kiernan is one of the players that played on the 2014 team. She had a number of offers that she decided to not accept. She wanted to stay home and be close to her family. She is a great player and an even better person. There are others from the 2014 class that decided to stay home and not accept full ride offers as well. I have a great deal of respect for the clubs that you have mentioned. Kentucky Premier is a model club and has had amazing players come through their program and played at very high levels. I am sure their alumni list is amazing! I wish their staff and players the best of luck.

I agree with your assessment of Leigh. Is there a tougher player to match up with in the 9th? She can play out of the post, has good handles and shoots the 3 very well.

I think that the addition of Jenna Martin will really help them at the point guard position.
