Ryle 55 Boone County 52

Looks like a good game!!!

Ryle pushed a lead to 21 late in second quarter and led by as many as 19 in the 3rd. Took everything they had to hold Boone off at the end.

So how did Ryle get the lead that high and how did Boone make the comeback? Crazy game!

That is crazy Ryle went up that high, and couldn't maintain that kind of lead. The Rebels play with a lot of heart, and have a great coach behind them to push them through to get them back in the game. Hats off to both teams on a great battle! Nice win for the lady raiders.

Congrats Ryle for holding on for the win! Boone plays hard, has got a lot of fight and won't quit. Sounds like it was a fury of a fourth quarter.

Ryle led 29-10 at halftime. Boone had trouble with Ryle's 1-2-2 press and must have had 20 plus turnovers in the half (my daughter had 6). Whatever Nell said at halftime lit a fire and Boone came out in a tenacious man to man press that caused Ryle fits. Boone outscored Ryle 42-26 in the second half and actually took the lead with a minute to play but couldn't hold on to it. Hats off to Ryle for having the resolve to hold on and win, and to Boone for not packing it in at halftime. It was a great game.

Wow! The typical "tale of two halves"!

So how is this shaping up as far as the seading of the district?

So how is this shaping up as far as the seading of the district?

Ryle currently first place at 3 & 0 in district with Boone in 2nd place. Certainly a lot more basketball to go and I suspect the Ryle/Boone rematch AT Boone on the 30th will be one heck of a game.

So how is this shaping up as far as the seading of the district?

I believe Ryle 1st, Boone 2nd, Cooper 3rd, and Conner 4th.

Ryle is finally making some noise. I believe they have the talent to play with anyone in Northern Kentucky, but when you watch them from game to game I have no idea the identity of this team. It seems that they are reluctant to play the three big girls together. They start but are very seldom on the floor at the same time. Come tourney time I look for Ryle to make some noise in the region.

I agree! I keep this team tucked away, knowing that someday it's going to happen for them. They are too good to be getting some of the results they have over the year. That's not a bad thing, it just takes teams time sometimes. They are absolutely a region sleeper. We have them this Friday and I hope they forget how to play because they can cause fits and I think they are learning how and when to integrate their young talent with the older girls. Right now, I would consider them one of those teams you "don't want to draw". Because of the ups and downs and their record, you are supposed to beat them if you are HC, HHS or Holmes. But because of their talent, they could step it up on any given night and romp ya! I look at ND that way as well.

I wasn't at the game, but reading between the lines, if Ryle built a 20 point lead in the first half using a full court press, I am interested to hear if the Ryle lineup was their "big" lineup or were they playing with a smaller lineup including the middle schoolers in the first half? I know the team takes on a dramatically different personality when the middle schoolers are on the floor, and I was just wondering what the full court pressing lineup was, from someone that was there. Anyone have statistics from the game?
