Nope to HC and NCC...as long as HC is getting Cincinnati kids, they will be aproblem for 2A. NCC won't touch them

The thread was directed at 1A AND 2A schools. since everry other thread is about Trinity X and Highlands, with a sprinkle of 5A schools. Also I asked for contributors. But yes a6A school starting a freshman could be an issue.

Apologies to the SK fans...I do not have a dog in this fight. But it seems unsavory in the least that an AD would also be the head football coach. Who's responsible for his annual evaluation? No AD should hold a head coaching position at the same time.

I taught elementary in JCPS. It was my understanding that kids were districted based on addresses. I could be wrong, so no need for cynical, sarcastic replies. For instance several of my students went to the middle next door and then Southern high school.

I don't see the point in it. Cin. Moeller was whipping everyone for decades, heck their coach was promoted to Notre Dame, rather rightly or wrongly, he was. And things happened as the rest of the area caught up to them. Yea, HS football is a little different now, however you get the point. Still not sure, after watching T play Cin. St. X, if T had an off night or if Cin St. X was just that well coached. X had two players, based on the eyeball test that would play at T. If the latter is true then the T coach needs some seasoning. A great year for T nonetheless, but let's cease all sillytalk.

I like Borchers. He will be good. I think hoops is where the youngers Williams' heart is and not that he won't continue to play football, but I see a good blast from someone will have him thinking about hoops season.

Those schools are both in the same district. That's really interesting. Sounds like the coaches were set up. How brazen of the coaches to go to the parent's house of another kid at the smaller high school in the district. Clock can't be ticking on the coach, because his brother is the AD. Looks like Colerain's Colerain's alleged cesspool is about to flood. One coach is apparently suspended for the year, and the other back just before practice begins. This can't be isolated, nor tolerated. Weak penalty.

Generally if you look at a school's football team, it will team you the school's population. Not the case with Gallatin. The school seems to have a decent minority population for the school locale and size. Must find a way to get them on the field, for starters.

It all falls under coaching. Of course respect the opponent, but coaches must appear confident and credible.

You need speed and hungry, dedicated players, several of whom will be asked to play at the next level, the more D1 linemen the better. You need coaching to help. Some teams potential is not reached due to poor coaching. But I saw Trinity vs. Cin. St. X and felt X on had two players that would definitely start at Trinity, and two debatable. But X had no business playing them that close for that long. I've also seen teams be mentally down two touchdowns to Highlands because they were too respectful of the tradition, and that is partly due to coaching. Coach must have an f-them attitude.

When coaches say they don't have a fb or Te, they mean they don't have a prototype. Of course you don't have many 5-10 220 pound bangers or many 6-3 240 guys that can run and catch and block, but jeez Louise you have to have someone whom is willing to hit and is ok with being hit. Sounds like it was a mentality issue.

I said my piece. Elder is always slow. Two nephews graduated 6 years apart from Cincy St. X. Elder never built on speed. Any GCLer will tell you that. The years they won state they had a bruising back and a shifty qb. Not blazers by anymeans, especially considering the deer Moeller, X, and LaSalle crank out yearly. You lost credibility. Cardinal Mooney is very beatable. I guess having actually seen OH football on a weekly basis for so long I have a different opinion on it. Have any small school that is middling or worse PM me and I will have them be winners in two years. Bad hire of Brossart. We just have to agree to disagree.

What's dumb about it. I don't like the hire. Mooney is smaller than Dixie, beatable. Elder has field turf and is still genuinely a slow team that executes just well enough, along with a boatload of pride. The fact remains with DB, will it be about him or about the work. Time will tell.

Mooney and Elder are beatable in any year. Mooney is a small school, and Elder is traditionally slow, just well coached and discipline. On paper Cin. X and Moeller are always better. The fact remains that this hire was not exactly a good one. Good night. I said my piece.

what about DB...wasnt there a 3-8 season or something like that in his first two. Wirth is cleaning his mess

Every program goes thru down years. However, DBs run at CC seemed like a never-ending bear market, so the school got rid of him and now all of a sudden are competing with their rivals again in Wirths second year. I understand that BGP tries to keep negativity to a minimal, but jeez Louise, truth hurts. Nice man doesn't equate to good coach all the time. Inner honesty is in order. The thing many hs coaches fail to answer: is it about the HC or about the work. If it is about the work, then it will be about teaching and coaching. If it is about some other stuff a coach is in to such as using the school as a steppingstone, or just wanting a stipend to maintain a standard of living, or whatever else but the kids, then that is what will resonate with his players and staff. If DB wins two playoff games in any of the three years I am suggesting he will be there before being canned, I will personally write the man a letter of apology and post it on here.

With all due respect Clyde, for you to say you could argue means you have an opinion and no basis to say that my opinion is incorrect. Rodenberg won a state in what two years. That's because he is a good coach and coached at a winnable program. Brossart took many beatdowns

A good HC can get players to play the positions to make the team a success. He obviously doesn't resonate with kids. Injuries or not CC should win minimal 6 games per year. Really 7-8. Plus the way this season occurred on and off field, a serious AD would not have seriously considered anyone from previous staff. Dixie had a chance to make a statement and let the state know they are a serious competitor in 6A. Instead, Dixie hired a retread, why because he was in the building? I just don't like the hire as a fan of hs sports.

privileged info...bad hire...Just look at his work from CC. That program can roll its helmets out on the field and be up two scores on most and he stunk up the joint. Now you give him a public school with wavering participation...Dixie will continue its middling ways with him. He is the Dick Lebeau, or Marvin Lewis of coaching. Great coordinator type but head coaching is too big a burden for him.

If only you knew how well I know him. Point is, not a good hire Dixie. Wonder why did Borchers back out.

He is asking that if current CC coach left, would a return from DB be welcomed. I think not. DB is an average at best big school coach. Small school coaching, like he did at Finneytown, is simple. Recruit your building and get two dynamite assistants and you will win. Big school is much deeper than that and DB doesn't strike me as having those intangibles. Safe hire, not a good hire. Dixie had to have better names with better track records apply for job. If anyone reading is interested in the job, get a teaching job at Dixie within the next 3 years when the position becomes open again.

Good luck coach, know Dixie can put up a better showing against the top dogs. Just don't think he can do it. Career at Finneytown did not merit the CovCath job, but somehow he got it. Record at CC doesn't merit Dixie job. Maybe he does experience a Belichek effect. I just don't see it in him. Some people just don't give you that feeling of being special enough. He is not 6A special IMO.

Channel ran Wing T, how will Dixie's parents and fan base accept that offense. Doesn't seem to fit that community
