Overrated how? Ohio always performs well in the Herbstreit Classic, whether they play in Ohio or abroad. When St. X lost to Highlands, X kept out like 3 starters and were very vanilla because they had Elder the next week. X didn't even make the playoffs that year. X was weak.

Not even close...for Trinity, LaSalle is a step up in competition, for St. X, LaSalle is a pesky league foe that is ocassionaly good and wins the league like once every 10 years, as in 2010. For Trinity, Moeller is a former national power stil hangning on to past glory like Notre Dame; for St. X, Moeller feels you are borrowing its national status; For Trinity, Elder is a benchmark game; For St. X, Elder is the school with the slow guys that never quit and flip flop winning the league sometime. Considering I would take Pickerington Central and Springfield over Manual and Male, St. X's schedule is much tougher. This is a malicious and ugly comment. It is true, but ugly and malicious. I agree with everyone so far. The Crosstown Showdown is rather watered down. Taft has no business on national TV. The McNick vs. NCC game might be interesting, and really is what the showdown should be about. I'd like to see more OH vs. KY games in this thing. The way it is now, it's like a mini- Herbie.

Agreed. Any HC experience? How old is he. Coaching in St. Louis, where the public schools play a lot of games at city parks, is several step down from coaching in NKY. Of course we wish him luck and Lloyd shouldn't take long to reclaim their spot in the local 2A, with the athletes in Erlanger and Elsmere.

Article doesn't say much about his experience other than at Holmes. Is he offensive or defensive minded? Where else has he been? How thick and sexy was the candidate's/applicant's list?

I've always felt that as a coach, Spritzsky was nothing to write home about. We will see this year, as Dixie has some prime talent. If he is once agan in that 5-5, 6-4 range (7-3 maybe acceptable; just depends on how the 7-3 came about) then my suspicions are confirmed. I believe they need a better coaching staff. Good guys, average coaches.

Sorry pal, but isn't Lloyd, which is a part of the Erlanger/Elsmere district, a public school? If the school is public, then applicants and interviews are public record. Can find out by calling board office and asking how to make a public records request for the district. They have to turn it around in a reasonable amount of time, which usually 2-3 days, depending on what the request entails. In this case, fill it out Monday, they have it by Wednesday or they made the announcement by then.:sssh::sssh:

While many on here will say race does not matter, but if you were a black kid, would you rather go to Scott, SK or Dixie? None of the three are exactly the most diverse schools in the area, but Dixie would be the most logical.

With all these bad grades comments, is it possible that his grades were juked at his previous school or schools to play? Is it possible that this may be a revelation by the state board?

The written piece... I did not watch the video, because the written piece paints and clearer image of the bigger picture. That's the drama - for me anyway. No need for a ti-for-tat spat between us.

Not sure what you mean...I mentioned the best article on an athlete, and this story about those kids in Florida is the best piece of journalism ever. That's all I was saying.

:confused::confused: They need it to be a teacher...Warner is an exception to the rule, there are exceptions to every rule, ask Antonio Alfonseca... Football and hoops needs to have someone that sees the school's population on a daily basis, and make sure he approached darn near every boy not playing in the band or soccer. The ball players need to know he is there and that their miscreancy will be found out within minutes by the coach, also the colleges coming in to talk to player, etc...help when you are a coach, more flexibility with time as to working a regular job, unless the coach doesn't work...but Warner is an exception much like AA If I am a principal, my football and hoops coaches are teachers...math and science, or something analytical and conceptual...ask the folks in Ft. Thomas or in Holy Cross...these Social Studies and gym teachers and security guards are easy to figure out after awhile, because they're coordinators are often not the sharpest knives in the jar, much like them.

From what I understand, I hear that WV will be competitive this year and next, and may possibly break out in 2013 and establish itself as a local small school power. This year, they will need to find a way to stay in the game late, and hope to develop a playmaker or two for some late game heroics. I think they will be fine.

Agreed. The relationships built with teammates, especially during double sessions, are priceless. It's been more than 20 years and my former teammates and I still speak at least once a month. The worst for me was risking ruptured spleens by the age of 16. Hearing a coach scream wasn't my lifetime dream. LoL if you get the reference...that's why he's wearing a "Big" grin:D

They have been 14-0 the past two years at the MS level. If Lucas can keep kid sin the program, they will do well.
