  1. CovCath killed Campbell last year. CovCath is better, Campbell will be worse. CovCath 42-14.
  2. I had a chance to play in the only night games ever played at Wooten Field and I have to say it was the most exciting home game I have ever played. The atmosphere was outstanding, the student section was raw, and the game was outstanding. Lets be honest, nobody wants to watch CovCath play a team like Harrison County, or Pendleton at 1 on a Saturday. Those type of games never draw attendence and a lot of the Crazies would rather stay home. (This is a fact because it used to irritate me that we had better student sections for away games than home games). You play that game on Friday and it's a whole different story. People are excited all day at school, and the game gets more hyped up. It's Friday night and everyone loves football on Friday night. I would love lights. I would also like to keep a tradition going with the saturday games. Maybe one or two a year. (Switch between Highlands and Beechwood?)
  3. ^ But sometimes they gain an extra day because they play on Saturday. It balances out. I'd like to see lights installed, but keep the tradition and play at least one Saturday afternoon game a year.
  4. Why would they be going to these camps if they already committed to schools? It's great to get honors and awards, but other than pride what do you get out of going to this camp?
  5. Clint Massie and Michael Best should put up good numbers for CovCath. Also expect Sam Dressman to contribute if they choose to play him at WR.
  6. That really is rough, beautiful school by the way. I imagine Georgetown will fall into this mold rapidly if this goes through. I talked to a player today that says coaches and players are saying a D2 or bust kind of deal. Can't blame them in the least.
  7. I think it is a little different when the difference in money for these athletes is whether they get paid 10 or 12 million year. Rather than everyday Joe who wants to some extra money for the bills.
  8. The saddest part is how President Crouch is trying to hide behind the fact that Georgetown has to be more academically inclined. He is about to make two very successfull programs, Basketball and Football, go down the drain. I can't wrap my head around it.
  9. Georgetown is a lot like NKU in the aspect that they pull in D1 transfers that need scholarship money. Georegetown moving to D3 denies that ability, as well as the ability to coax the good players players to come to the school by giving them partial scholarship and developing them. I am willing to bet that if G'Town goes D3, they will lose Cronin(HC), Housekeeper(DC), and possibly others. Oh, and not to mention the 1/2 of the team that will leave. After all this, Georgetown will be a D3 school with only one major city to pull from.
  10. I wish I were closer to the NKU situation like I am to the Georgetown choice. After hearing what you have to say i just don't see these choices being worth it. NKU seems to be jumping the gun, while Georgetown is just making the wrong choice all together, IMO.
  11. What does that even mean. I feel like you have never met Miles, becuse if you have you would realize the desire question is a good one. He is a really good guy, but doesn't always seem like defense, and sometimes football for that matter, is top on the list. Like earlier said in different context, call spade a spade.
  12. I know how you feel, but jeez this move by G'town is so much worse IMO, it will kill the school for years to come. It will be impossible to count all the transfers and everything else thaqt will come with it.
  13. In my career I have played every position on the O and D lines, OLB, and TE. As far as technique goes, center is the hardest to learn, especially going against a nosegaurd. Snapping and stepping is VERY difficult to do without fumbling a snap. I'd have to say that left tackle is the most challenging mentally. You have to be ready for a bull rush, be ready to kick step, pick up a blitzing linebacker to the inside or outside, watch for safetys creeping up on the line, be ready for a loop, and you are responsible for making calls that the gaurd, fullback, and TE need to change the blocking scheme at the LOS. A good LT can realize the coverage that the D is playing and know when someone is going to come off the edge. That's why LTs get paid. I'd have to say that Dline is the easiest position I played. If you have a high motor and some moves and feet you can be a successful Dlineman in high school (look at Highlands Dlinemen, small but scrappy, disciplined and quick), but to play in college requires a lot of strength and quickness.
  14. The O-line should be solid. They have a really special player in Bradley Way. The kid is an animal. Also you have Tim Connaughton, Max Halpin, and Jake Henderson returning with significant playing time. What will they do with Dressman? He's a good QB but he won't be taking any reps away from Bir. With his size and athleticism he should be playing somewhere.
  15. Alex Connelly- GTown Alex Slabaugh- GTown Troy Timmerman- Air Force Paul Ritter- EKU Kevin Connaughton- GTown Kevin Morrison- TMC Chad Schadler- TMC Shane Popham- Wake Forest Brian Hennessey- TMC John Hennessy- TMC Kyle Callahan- Union
  16. Coaching isn't a huge part in these games but it does matter, I mean last year there were at the minimum just as many good athletes and the score was what 6-0 East? This year was HHS and Ryle last year as Dayton and Ludlow, it is pretty clear why this game was so exciting. I really liked how both teams slung it around and made it fun to watch. :thumb:
  17. I'd rather play for Tressel for Calipari anyday. But they're both scumbags that win and recruit great players. I'd love to see The Vest in Lex. No way it ever happens though.
  18. The kid in the first picture is Ryan Hayden. He will be a senior this year. He got a little PT last year. I think the other kid is coach Ruthsatz son, and if i am correct he will be a freshman and is a pretty good ball player.
  19. They have a lot of work to do if they want to compete in the MSC, but I think they will improve steadilly over the next few years and become a respectable program.
  20. Any transfers coming in? Seems like the basketball team is landing some top notch kids.
  21. He also has a son that played on St. Anthony's JV squad last year.
