  1. This will be the only time I post on this subject. I played for Koz when he was more hands on with is o-line, I also played for Brilz in the All-Star game. As far as coaching their "techniques are pretty similar due to their professional backgrounds I'm assuming. They both teach proper "chop blocks" but not illegal blocks. As for the Koz/Brilz fiasco I did not see this because I had left the game out of frustration with my team. I do know there is a past history between the 2 but I do not know the whole story. So anything said between the 2 would blow up all it needs is a spark. As for playing for Brilz I can say this, he did treat us HC players differently at the practices because of where we came from and who we played for. I would like to say that this didn't ruin my all-star experience but it did diminish it somewhat, because of how he treated us. On a side note I can honestly say that the rest of the BW staff is excellent and I enjoyed playing for them overall Noel Rash is a great coach.
  2. I for once agree 100 percent with you. I thought our o-line would be a strength of our team this year and it has stunk up the joint in every game. Pair that with a defense that clearly does not know how to wrap when they tackle and any team will be in for a long season. I'm not gonna blame the receivers yet for not being able to catch because trail does throw a different ball than gabbard, I will give them one more week for their "adjustment period". If it continues then, the it will not look good for the Indians this year. However, trail can't throw when he is hit as soon as he gets the snap. Losing pangallo is going to hurt the Indians it is going to force beal, pouncy, and gabbard as a writer to step up and pick up where he left off. The only bright spot I saw for the Indians tonight was burt pouncy running the ball hard, he was cleary upset on the sidelines because he couldn't get his cramps under control to go back on the field to help his team.
  3. The Indians split time with Jr. Matt Stecht #7 and Fr. Hamilton Scott #15 as their jv QB's. This is Matt's first time playing only QB after only playing it in spot duty as a Frosh/Soph. and Hamilton is a very good player with a ton of upside(he is currently the varsity kicker and rotates in at wr/cb in the varsity games) who is still growing. If I were a betting man I would say the Hamilton is the heir apparent, and will be the starting QB as a Soph. next year for the Indians.
  4. Im not sure why the JV game against Conner was canceled, however I would imagine that the JV against Beechwood game was canceled due to a festival going on at HC I believe. Also HC's JV squad is very young mostly freshman and sophomores and many of whom get playing time during the varsity games. I could speculate that they were trying to rest their team because of the short week with Beechwood on Thursday.
  5. Since no one has actually made a prediction in this thread I will be the first. I think a fairly healthy HC team takes advantage of the battered and bruised tigers and wins with a score somewhere around 28-17.
  6. Agree 100%. It is not a dig to say that I think Coopers D gives them a 2td edge over Conner. From what I was always told it is the defense that wins games, and Cooper has the team to slow down Conner. This is an my opinion after seeing both Cooper and Conner nothing more, nothing less. Both teams are very good and it will be a very good game when they play. On another note the perception that Conner only has Barker and Fogle is not a bad thing, in fact us HC fans have to hear it all the time that all we have is Beal and Pouncy. It is just one of those things that the team will have to deal with, and prove everyone wrong week in and week out. They did nothing to really show otherwise against HC though and they didn't need too because they are 2 extremely talented players who took over the game entirely. The o-line deserves credit for Conner because near the end of the 2nd qtr you could tell that they were wearing the Indians down allowing for the Cougar running game to take over.
  7. Looks pretty good to me so far, honestly I may put HC and NCC even lower for right now. maybe 6-9 somewhere. However I do think HC will bounce back strong once they get in sync with trail, there were many dropped passes against Conner. NCC will be a tough team by the end of the season, they always are. So yes I do agree that they will move back up in the rankings over the next few weeks but Danville and Somerset deserve the top spots as of right now.
  8. to be correct when hc put up their 3rd score, conners DL and LBS were all still on the field maybe a sub or 2 in the secondary....but still mostly the starting def. they were not pulled until about 8 min left in the 4th qtr. i know this because they didnt change until hcs jv had their 2nd series on offense. Also no Cooper cant score with Conner, the problem is Coopers defense will not allow Conner to score at will, cooper will be able to still move the ball on Conner though, resulting in a Cooper win.
  9. not quite sure it was that high but the only ran with barker and fogle, he was the only one catching passes also.
  10. 2 gabbard td passes and 1 td pass from trail... All went to Vinny pangallo.... Trail started cramping late in the third. When trail was in hc seemed to have that electric feel to them, he is still learning the offense to and had a few bad reads, also his receivers didn't help him out with at least 5 drops that hit them in the hands. I fully expect him to be the starter against Beechwood next week. As for Conner they are good but not great. Barker and Fogle are as advertised if not better but honestly they do not have much after that. If some others step up they could really have something special Before the jvs took completely over for both teams it was 53-21 Conner if that tells u anything. I think hc is ready to play someone their own size after a rough 2 weeks and are gonna give Beechwood all that they can handle. Also Good luck to Conner with the rest of their season.
  11. 53-21 10:02 4q pangallo with another td for hc
  12. Barker 15 yd run and 2pt conversion 36-14 Conner at half
  13. 21-14 1:39 left in 2q... Vinny pangallo has 2 receiving tds one from gabbard and one from trail
  14. Trail was in 6 or 7 snaps brought a lot of intensity to hc offensive connecting on first 2 passes to lead to the hc score.
  15. I was at practice a few days this week he is still asking questions and the coaches are stopping plays to make sure that he knows his reads. When they went team, yes he looks very good but that is just his natural talent, he is still a week away from being the starter for the Indians IMO, and yes it is a fact that he must be used as the QB, Gabbard looked very good taking reps at receiver and Trail targeted him often and I don't blame him because Travis is a huge target lining up on the outside, I would also venture to say that he probably has the best hands on the team.
  16. I have not heard that... So not sure who your sources are, I'll say that trail does have a big arm and is much more accurate than fuller was and gabbard is... His arm is actually pretty comparable to what Jerry arlinghaus' was... Maybe even a tad strong than Jerry's.. As far as running the ball no he is not on the same level that fuller was, but trail is able to run the ball and give hc that option. I still think that gabbard will get most of the game this week as trail is still learning the offense.
  17. I will have to agree with you on this. I believe that a top 10 team in a division (HC in 2A) should be able to play with a top 10-15 team a division higher(3A) and maybe an above average team 2 divisions(4A) higher than the team. If there is a bigger difference in class than that, simply the amount of players will usually wear down the smaller school. I fully expect Conner to win, I have watched the films for both of HC's games and the films on Conner. Conner will wear down HC i'm thinking the final score will be something like 38-21 or so. Next week should be a great game with the Indians taking on Beechwood, with the Tigers not at full strength the Indians may finally be able to get over the hump. I think that by playing these much larger schools early on in the season it will prepare HC for a run the rest of the season until the inevitable showdown with NCC. Which ever team wins this and the rematch that will take place in the playoffs will most likely be the favorite to win 2A this year.
  18. Obviously your statement doesn't really mean anything because hc is playing Conner not Boone County and Conner without a doubt has a weaker defense than Cooper. So not really sure what you are trying to say.
  19. My guess is trail maybe gets a quarter to a half.... Making his first official start against Beechwood next week .... As far as this game goes I will say Conner wins but will be nowhere near the spread of the hc/Cooper game due to Conners defense not being as strong as Coopers IMO.
  20. That was an accident my brother was playing on the line when the last score happened, he told me koz had told everyone not to score however for some reason the rb didn't get the message and ran it in.... He was corrected by the coaching staff on the sidelines after the play.... In his defense though it is a defenses job to stop an offense, not an offenses job to stop themselves for the the sake of a defense.
