  1. Wow. sounded like Withrow was passing at will.....
  2. Hate to say it but Trinity is the #1 team in Ky.
  3. I think all their td's were either set up with or were passes themselves
  4. Why was Withrow so effective with their passing? Listened to the radio broadcast and apparently the receivers were wide open all night, missed alot of passes right in their hands that could have been touchdowns if caught.
  5. This year's squad is very talented and is all business on the field. The speed and talent is quite impressive.
  6. I'm interested in your thoughts on who would bring those losses
  7. Whackem's fantasy Bluebird schedule 2010 Aug. 20 Simon Kenton (tune up, no offense Neer) or Ryle Aug. 27 Trinity Sept. 3 Dixie Sept 10 Boyle Co. Sept 17 Cov. Cath Sept 25 Johnson Central Oct. 1 NCC Oct 8 Bye Oct 15 Elder Oct 22 Anderson Oct 28 Colerain Scott called up and forfeited.....
  8. I understand that Highlands could do little this year to improve the schedule. I'm sure Dale would've loved to play another Cincy school with the talent he has this year. After looking at the rest of Highlands schedule, it is going to be one beat down after another on into the playoffs. It's a shame that, knowing the talented group of kids they were going to have these past couple years, they didn't secure a top Cincy team or Louisville team. The fans love it. The players love it more. Go Birds.
  9. You don't need a vacuum sealer. Use freezer wrap plastic, put your cuts on the paper, wrap it and squeeze one end to get all the air out (won't hurt the meat at all) and wrap the other end. What you'll have is a couple tightly packed steaks and finish it off with some butcher paper and tape, date and enjoy at a later date. No need to wash meat. Shouldn't be a reason you get it dirty. Hang the deer, skin it, and take the meat off the bone, put it in freezer bags, drop it in a cooler with ice and take home to process. Wet wrapped meat will just result in freezer burn. Butterfly the back straps for steak, make some roasts out of the hind qtrs and take the rest for hamburger. Just at the end of the backstrap is the sirloin. One of the best cuts just above the hind leg. enjoy.
  10. Might as well take that 6pt out. Not a buck you want hangin around especially an old one. Make some room for big daddy....hope to get out this weekend but it's a delicate high wire act for me. I need some sirloin's before grillin' season's over. Temps have cooled in am considerably and deer should be more active in the later am and earlier pm. -City Boy
  11. What's happening down there? I never heard of kids backtalking the coach or coaches punching out windows when I was a kid. What's this world coming to?
  12. Absolutely. The earlier the better. Bacteria is a result of meat spoiling due to excessive heat or by fecal contamination. Keep your processing clean and retrieve ASAP and you'll be fine. Early season it's important to get it to the fridge quickly. Once there, you can store it for about a week, by then you should have your meat processed, wrapped airtight and stored in the freezer for this coming winter. By the way Woodsy, Ky afield makes an awesome deer processing video. Some good ones' on youtube as well. Most folks tear a deer up and waste alot of good meat on hamburger and jerky. There are many wonderful cuts of steak to be had on a big ole' bruiser. Look for the City Boyz video this coming spring for our recap of 2010 and we'll have a processing video as well.
  13. With all the fist's flying amongst fellow Bird fans this past week post BW, I can only wonder what the fans in the surrounding communities think of it all? I have to say, it's been quite a dogfight at times, but I believe the dust has settled. Just think, it's only week #3. I mean, my goodness, Guru has already started a thread about all the drama.....
  14. Beechwood/Highlands final page 2. Listen, I expressed the same opinion about playing Beechwood. However, they did play an awfully tough game the week prior and some of the players did get some good rest.
  15. I guess what impressed me most about JJ Jude and Hall was their toughness last year. They played with alot of heart and gained my respect. I'm sure they've improved quite a bit as well over the past year. The question mark looms over the rest of the squad. It is a team sport and I tend to agree with you LN.
  16. Come on G. Why open an old wound? Consensus opinion was that Dale took out his starters way too early to salvage a relationship with Rash. I just hope he doesn't make a habit of this type behavior. Those kids deserve to play most of the game and beat the opposition no matter what the spread. No Highlands fan has questioned his expertise in play calling and critical decision making skills. It seems that folks are putting a spin on this topic.
  17. Wow, haven't read past your post but I'm sure you'll get hammered for this one. I do agree with you. Let the kids play at least 3 quarters. If they win by 100, well, so be it. It sounds harsh, but HHsBird is right on the money. These kids are getting short changed for the effort they put into the program. For many of them, it will be they're last year of organized ball.
  18. Sounds like a good topic for a thread. LN can start it.:notworthy:
  19. I think it's time you rethink your prediction measures....just a tad bit off:laugh:
