Sat in the stand from 4-dusk....All deer started moving within 1/2 hr of dusk. It was like all of a sudden the forest came alive.... Tonight I'll hit the tree around 6pm. I need some straps and it's time to slice'n'ice' We're the City Boyz and will have our video out at the end of the season......:banana:

Some of the folks that attended the new digs in 08' said it was a pretty intimidating place to play. There is not one doubt in my mind that these two will be going head to head again this year.....I'm predicting now that it will be the best game of the season.

We both know that JC will steamroll Ashland. Second, It's academic that their styles are different. My underlying point is that you have two quality athletes in those two skill positions that provide the bulk of their respective team's offensive output. The other point that I made was that the game will be in Eagleland. Towles himself said he was unnerved by the Ryle game at home. JC is a hostile place full of emotionally charged fans.. I'm sure those JC kids will play that game with the desire of Highlands vs. St. Xavier. Will definitely be a good one.

Yes, we all know this and we all know how important this man is to Highlands football. I have the utmost respect for Dale, but he'd be the first to tell you he isn't perfect. The comments by posters on this thread have all been constructive in nature. "A wise man is he who listens to counsel; A fool is right in his own eyes. Many posters on here need to take that to heart.

It's one thing to use the game to work on your short to mid range passes. But to take Towles out mid 2nd qtr and then have to bring him back in to throw some bombs just to lengthen the lead is a waste. Why not just keep the kid in there for the 1st half, let him work on his game(which he will need deep in the playoffs), and then give him a break. Doesn't make an ounce of sense to me. I think they missed a perfect opportunity to work on some things and sold the team short b/c he didn't want to hurt Rash's feelings....

You mean 1st quarter? Mccoy was in 7minutes left in the 2nd. This game didn't do anything for the Birds......total waste IMO

This game was a joke. Highlands didn't look at all fired up for this one. Towles made some nice passes within 20 and dropped a couple bombs. He doesn't seem to have a good read of his targets at times. Alot of wide open receivers that didn't even get a look....He tends to hold onto the ball too long and hence end up too late on the receiving end. I didn't see any designed routes or plays. Didn't see Compton or Sullivan at all. Abner looked either ailing or just not too jacked for the game. Can't say I blame him. This game was much more beneficial to Beechwood. Highlands got relatively little out of this game. Defensive turnovers scored alot of the Birds points. Pass/Run was 80/20. #42 again got great penetration and the H D pressured well. Defensive secondary got burned alot by Beechwood. Not a good showing for them. Another game reminisent of Dixie back in 08' being up by a bunch and Dale taking out the starters way too early. They were still cold when they had to come back in in the 2nd only up by a couple td's. This game dragged on way too long and should've been put out of it's misery with a running clock. Instead we had to suffer through an ineffective 2nd team effort and leave scratching our heads again.......

J.K. Hall/ J. J. Jude; C. Hempel/ T. Elliott Ryle D much better than Johnson Central Johnson Central much better offense Highlands @ Golden Eagles this year. Ryle/Highlands @home could have gone either way and was closer than most people realize. Ryle gassed in 2nd half. J.C. goes both ways too. What does all this mean, you ask? Well, it means that we just saw a preview of things to come and under much different conditions come November......Highlands is going to have their work cut out for them on the road in hostile territory.

I sense that the feelings are mutual.

The only thing that I'm nervous about tonight is whether or not our PA system is going to work. Last week was an embarrassment to the school. They seem to have problems with it every week. I can remember last years St. Xavier game when it kept malfunctioning. I feel sorry for the dance team as well. Nothing like seeing a bunch of girls out on the field jumping around without any music. Maybe we'll get a touchdown song this week since we have no cannon.....

The only thing this thread has done to clear up the reasons why we don't play NCC anymore is to confound us even more than we were before we read this. I've heard game films, score run up, and Bob Schneider.....So which is it folks?

Nothing personal but Elliott IMO is far from a D1 RB. He would make an impact in programs like Thomas More but is not athletic enough to be considered D1.

I'd like to see Manual make this a respectable game. Maybe quell the Rock fervor.
