  1. perfect tune-up game post Ryle. Last week has revealed much about this year's offense and I'm sure this game will serve to work on the short to mid range passing game. We may see True much more in the backfield alot in this one as well to see how he handles the ball. He had a really good game last week. Mccoy will probably be in at qb for much of the 2nd half in this one. It all depends on how Towles looks this week. I'm sure he'll be fine with no pressure on him.
  2. What exactly happened between Sullivan and Elliott?
  3. Considering his stats last week, it's a no brainer.
  4. Defense Defense Defense. Superb defensive game for the Birds. Shut down Elliott and pressured Hempel. Textbook. Good licks on both sides of the ball. Emotions ran high a DCMS. Fans even throwing objects on the field. Warner animated as always at halftime. Towles looked shaky tonight. Nerves, but settled in and salvaged the 1st half. Game could've gone anyway tonight. Offense looks anything but a sure thing in the Red Zone. Running game sputtered at times. Towles forcing a couple trying to make something happen. 1st real test of the Birds tonight. almost a carbon copy of last year's JC game although Ryle didn't gas out as bad as JC. Tonight was a preview of a future matchup in Eagleland. Towles passing saved their hides on more than a couple series. Alot of 3rd and longs for the Birds. He did overshoot a wide open receiver early that would've given them breathing room in the 1st half. Offense C+ Defense A+
  5. If Ryle doesn't do it tonight, it won't happen the rest of the year. I must add that the fans last week against Manual had alot of rust on them. It certainly wasn't a lively crowd. Hopefully tonight they'll open up with a little more spirit. It was hardly the imposing atmosphere that some posters claim. It was weak for the #2 team in the state. Maybe the fans are getting too soft by all the winning.....
  6. It should be in the mid-70's tonight for game time.
  7. So, really, nothing's changed over the past few years. Not a real shocker IMO.
  8. I need to meet this qryche character. He sounds like he bleeds blue!
  9. 30 minutes might not mean much to you, but it does to those who may work late and 30 minutes at DCMS more than likely means 21 points on the board.
  10. Would someone please tell the folks that schedule games in Ft. Thomas to please be consistent with the start times....!? Every week it seems that fans are befuddled about the "7 or 7:30" dilemma. Please, for the love of all, schedule all games for 7:30 start times and be done with it. sheesh. High school football shouldn't need a ouija board to figure out.
  11. No doubt. He must not know Dale, but then again, who does, really?
  12. Sheehan is going to be a tough WR to stop. The problem with him wasn't one of skill but of miscommunication friday night between he and Towles. Highlands will mix in big plays but they had alot of 3rd down plays last friday against Manual and as a result, we will probably see more screens, counters, and keepers. If effective against the Ryle D, it will be a long night for DB's because Towles will open up the airspace for another aerial attack. The Highlands defense had alot of success pressuring the Manual QB. If they can pressure Hempel the same way, they'll be successful. I'm interested mostly in this game b/c it will reveal alot about how effective they'll be against JC this year. I think both Ryle and JC are similar opponents with both having athletic QB's and an awesome running attack.
  13. You Birds are a tough crowd....It's time to move on now...
  14. Doesn't matter is your answer to a legitimate question I asked? Try just answering the question that wasn't even posed to you.....
  15. How does praise equate to pressure? I'm having a hard time with this one.
  16. I am Whackem' and I am an addict. However, reading some of these posts is actually therapeutic if you know what I mean....
  17. There were some very good licks put on the QB by Sullivan but there were many other Bluebirds that represented as well. #42 I think had a terrific game. Abner made a couple nice open field tackles also. Some think that I'm overinflating this Bluebird team, but this team is just as good if not better than last years' post Bardo squad. Fans got to see only a fraction of what this offense is capable of doing on the field. Towles ran the offense with the poise of a college QB (Thanks Jared), Compton looks like a young John Riggins, Streeter has more than filled Fennel's shoes, and the Weinrich's D is swarming (although we miss Roller's presence). Many in the Ryle camp are saying that they are coming into DCMS next week to upset the Birds. It won't happen against the well disciplined kids I saw friday night...We're in for a treat alright.
  18. That's ok. You can go with me next week but I'll be in cognito.
  19. Yes, there were several great hits in this game.
  20. Pony up some money and check em' out next week for yourself.
