  1. wow. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing that those beasts are out there in my spot.
  2. The game was very much a surprise....billed as Pike vs. Towles by the media, the game lived up to the hype. Pike impressed me but he could have "smoked a cigarette and eaten a hamburger" with the Highlands pressure tonight.....nonexistent IMO. If Towles had that kind of time, he would have been just as effective. Apart from the special teams and defensive TD's, this game was even through 3 qtrs....haven't seen the Bluebirds stall on so many possessions in a long time....pass heavy offense tonight...I want to know where our running game went? Towles seems to be our most effective runner. I got a weird sense that even though Dixie was in this game through at least 2 and a half qtrs, that Highlands was very much in control of the game. Dixie represented very well and should be proud of their effort. They pressured Towles all night...The score was certainly not indicative of the game. Gold looked like AC running tonight. Nice to see Sullivan back in action....Great team effort tonight from the Birds, but it was far from the blowout win that just about everyone predicted......
  3. Whack'll be at da fiddy five tonight......that's 55 yd line.
  4. The only time the City Boyz go to the county, is to collect their bounty. Rambler and Blacky, you guys are way too paranoid about anti gun organizations. The right to carry firearms is alive and well and will never be taken away as long as this is a free country. If you want to worry about something, worry about all the knuckleheads poaching, trespassing, leaving calling cards, spotlighting, baiting (turkeys), cheating on telecheck, shooting deer and cutting just the head off, hunting out of season, and many other things that go on in the country woodlots of the great Commonwealth of Kentucky....
  5. Keep in mind that 28 in 08' came against the 2nd team.....:eyeonyou:
  6. By the way, I think this game is being televised by TBNK as a game of the week....
  7. Never said anything, but I did get the evil eye a couple times for my celebratory rants.....
  8. Who said anything about killing? We City Boyz call it harvesting. And I never meant to disrespect the heritage of the sport but was merely stating that bowhunting represents a true hunting experience. Let's face it, there are quite a few folks that pull up in their cars, aim, and squeeze....
  9. I don't think it's true hunting when you can smack a deer from 300yds away. Bowhunters are the true hunters in this great country of ours. I can understand those that hunt with guns b/c they may be physically unable to hunt with a bow, but for all those that take up arms to bag a buck b/c they can't get him with a bow is pretty sad IMO. I've done both and their is no comparison between the rush of slicin'n'icin' a deer from 25yds v/s pulling the trigger at 225....:taz:
  10. I suppose I'll give my 6 bucks to support the Dixie Colonels Athletic Dept. friday night. I like the field but can't stand the hike....
  11. It is nice to see Swiff picking on someone else for a change.
  12. This would make a wonderful Mc Donald's commercial that would rival the likes of Bird and Jordan....
  13. I couldn't agree more. This is the reason I started the thread b/c I thought looking at the footage from 97' that Towles looks incredibly sharp for a jr. I do think Jared was more elusive or at least in that particular game.
  14. Towles has been praised recently for his athletic prowess on the field and you can't argue with the numbers. I recently watched Lorenzen as a junior play Cov. Cath (97 mudbowl) and I was amazed at his athleticism despite his large frame. He seemed effortless when throwing the ball and seldom had his feet planted when passing in that game. He was elusive and could run effectively as well. In other words, he seemed very much in control and comfortable in and outside the pocket. Towles has a large stature and has shown he can run effectively as well as throw bombs. So, are these two QB's and their game's similar or are we seeing the great work of Lorenzen's coaching being played out every friday night. To me, Towles has grown in leaps and bounds from last year....
  15. That's just part of the baggage that comes with being the best. It's the world's way of giving praise for all the hard work the kids do......
  16. Haven't hunted since opening day and I think I'm going to lose it soon. I may bring my climber to DCMS and perch atop the telephone poll by the PA system for Cov. Cath. You think I could get permission for that if I promise to wear my HSS pro mesh harness?
  17. Don't know b/c I'm not a big TV guy but everyone who thinks Highlands or any team for that matter will walk through the season needs to watch firsthand what can happen on any given friday night.
