  1. The bottom line is that there are weaknesses on this team that can be filled by very talented and athletic players (i.e. playmakers) that should be playing both ways. It's one and out now. I'd be throwing everything but the kitchen sink at teams now. The Birds need a threat in the backfield besides Towles. Teams are going to key on him. Long passes have rarely been successful of late, and Highlands hasn't had a breakaway run outside of Towles the entire year. Highlands D has carried the past few champs and this year is no exception, but injuries have hurt them as evidenced by points allowed of late. The offense must be strengthened come CCH II/JC game.
  2. Stuff happens and if you want to win, you must adapt. period. You keep looking at the wins, 75.....they don't mean a thing in the weeks to come.
  3. Not too too long ago they had the Beechies on the fence at home and about to break their backs if it weren't for a tremendous goal line stand back in the 90's..
  4. AC was put in during the 1st half of the JC game on defense....not the 2nd half.
  5. If what you say is correct, then shame on them. How many wake up calls is it going to take to realize the current system is not effective. Too much underutilized talent on this squad to squander it on a "theory" filled with obvious flaws (i.e. CCH and Ryle game). Last year when JC was running all over Highlands in the 1st half, Dale wised up and put AC on Defense to sure it up. He needs to fill the gaps or as Ryche put it "it's goodnight Irene".
  6. Highlands needs to quit worrying about players going both ways and start filling gaps with their best and most athletic players. I never understood why you have extremely talented players standing on the sidelines when you could use them on the field.
  7. I hear ya Rambler. You're alright in my book. I succumb to your wisdom and admit I shouldn't knock gun hunting.
  8. Or pull a Rambo and jump out of a tree onto the animal with a Bowie knife. I could have done this a few times with those pesky does.....
  9. I wouldn't read into a game where Highlands beat themselves too much. Trinity will have no problem disposing of Ryle.
  10. You are absolutely correct Ryche. I never understood keeping some of your best players on the sideline.
  11. Wow, sounds like the Birds "posted a quick reply" Ouch.
  12. This team is as good as any and is by far the best in NKY. They have destroyed teams all season and the defense has held just as good as in years past. Look at the numbers. The offense is certainly not a copy of last year, but it's not every year or every 10 to 20 years that an AC comes along. Time to back off the Birds with "mediocre" threads that IMO are simply meant to inflame.
  13. The Birds didn't need Connor when they had Crawford and Head. In fact, they were less effective when he came back still injured. You simply cannot compare injuries in previous seasons b/c if you lose players at key positions with no equivalent fillers, you're in trouble.
  14. time to rattle them horns, boyz. The bucks are making scrapes and checkin' for business. Now is a great time to prey on his manhood.
  15. So. I haven't. Totally absurd to bash a player that has laid it out there all season long. pretty sad IMO.
  16. Don't spin Clyde. HHS Birds is dead on and you and your cronies need to back off the criticism of the players. You're obviously not a Bluebird fan. Well, now I at least have a pretty good character profile of you and Walter.
  17. I like you HHSbirds. You tell it like it is. Go Birds and show us what you're made of.......
  18. Now, now, I had almost successfully ignored that part of his post.:madman:
  19. Why do you think Highlands was so amped up for the X game? They were tired of losing to GCL teams and put an end to it. Now, could they pull off that performance every week? Probably not.
