Looks like they'll play Chrisitan County next week..... -
Not sure I'm following you on the Bell Co. assessment. Bell squashed JC. Highlands eeked by JC. Bell over HC. Highlands big? whatever. This game will be another close one. 2td max spread. Factor in the location and a Bluebird team still high from JC and you even have a potential upset in the making.

My wife just bought me a Smokin' Tex smoker for our 10th anniversary... Just in time for my venison cutlets.

Highlands 21 Johnson Central 14

I thought McCoy did a heck of a job last night. Is it just me or what, but wouldn't he and Towles as a backfield tandem play heck with offenses? -

Did Streeter get the ball punched out or did he just lose the handle on the fumble last night? -
Bell County best team in 5 classes?

Hate to say it, but Bell's offense would outscore Highlands' offense this year. -

Highlands needs Towles, True, and McCoy in the backfield for State. -
Central will mix things up early in this game with Hall taking a better portion of the load especially when Jude gets stuffed a couple times. The Birds need to eliminate the defensive penalties that kept Ryle in the game. They can't overpursue. JC will try a couple passes as well to try and keep the Bird D honest. Load up the D with your best, I say. The offense will take care of itself. Cov. Cath gave up my predicted 42 and I see the Birds giving up 28 at most mistake free. Highlands has always relied on it's Defense to win championships and this year is no different. On offense for the Birds, Mccoy and Towles in the back would open up a whole new unstoppable offense IMO. Pretty sure this won't happen though. I look for Towles to do much of the same in this game. CCH put 28 on them and their offense is similar to Highlands (they have a better backfield and Birds better at passing). I watched the JC/CCH game and Mccoy would have a field day. The Birds ran a play against St. X where Bardo took the snap, pitched to AC and he pulled up and launched one (int). I can see this one being effective against JC with T and M in the backfield. JC won't kick off deep b/c of the Bird special teams. Highlands must keep the 1st half respectable. Last, but not least, if you're not planning on running the ball, please have your qb stay in the pocket. This JC team is not as good as they appear. They are a one man show that is effective b/c the other two parts are potential threats as well. The defense gives up points, period. Bell blasted them b/c they had a good run D. The Birds have the best IMO. 42-28 Birds w/ Mccoy; 31-28 Birds w/o.

They were on their heels before he came in. He simply was the difference in this game. The Birds escaped tonight. -

They had better throw everything out of the garage next week cuz this is State next week. A tandem run threat like that would open up the field for Towles. Guaranteed success with this type offense against a team like Central. -

Those two need to be out on the field together next week. Just imagine the things they would do offensively.... -

Jude running over CCH is no surprise. It has everything to do with matchups. The Birds are ineffective minus Towles in the running dept. so therefore, they didn't expose CCH's run defense like J.C. Highlands rely's heavily on the pass and will be much more effective matched up with Central. They need Mccoy in the backfield. -

No surprises in this game. I knew Dixie was going to give them alot more than folks had predicted. Donovan was the difference in this game. -

Highlands has no running game. period. They do now with Mccoy.....He's{jude} tough for any team to stop, but Highlands is the best team in 5a to stop him. If they beat Highlands next week, they win state with a healthy Jude. -

Highlands was a completely different offense with him in the game. Teamed up with Towles, two potential passer/runners in the backfield?????forgeddaboutitttt!!!! No brainer IMO
