It's the usual suspects talking of lackluster performances each week and they know who they are....And "some injury issues this year"? That's the understatement of the year.

What's wrong with the Bluebird contingent? The program has the nation's 3rd longest win streak, 3 peat in state titles, undefeated this year with a W against archrival CCH, some of the top coaches (Dale, Brian) in the state, and yet, the fans seem uncharacteristically critical of the team and it's performance over the last few weeks. Most teams would kill to be in Highlands' shoes, but I guess like the old saying goes, "the grass is always greener...." I suppose that winning has gotten to be such commonplace in Ft. Thomas, that it appears to have lost it's luster a bit. Hats off to the Bluebird players. I think they're going to surprise alot of folks with just how tough they really are, injury laden or not....Go Birds!

There will be no more 77-0 predictions for this team the rest of the year, but I will continue to put the Birds in the W column. I do think that they need to sure themselves up mentally. This is not the time of year for mental lapses.

JC steamrolls teams and breaks off long runs seemingly at will. The Birds are in for tough one if they face this team. JC is a playing state caliber football....

This is exactly why accomplishments like the one we're discussing are meaningless and in vain. If Highlands would have played a couple GCL teams the past few years, the winning streak would be a mute point. It's silly that we even discuss these things. Yes, I agree, that it says alot about the program in a positive way, but to soften the future schedules to ensure wins is utterly ridiculous. This accomplishment as well as the state rushing record need to be put in perspective. Sure, Jude is one heckuva RB, but if Dale would've unleashed AC last year against Scott, he would have had 1000yd game.
