Saw a couple kids at the pool the other day.....Highlands either has a top notch weightlifting coach/program or the JuiceWeasel is loose....freakish to think these are just teenagers.

Clyde's post implied that b/c his parents prevented him from playing varsity this year, Wagner would be the starter.....at least that's how I interpreted it. Oh well, look forward to seeing this kid someday.

So kids and the family have the say when it comes to what position and when they'll play? I've never heard that before.

I'd also like a full report on CCH's probable starters at QB, RB, WR, offense and defensive lines.

I'd like a full report on who I'll be watching this year from the QB, RB, WR, offensive/defensive line. Who will be the kicker/punter and will this be a stronger position for the Birds than last year?.....not that last year's kicker was bad.

If this would've happened to me at a CCH game, my perception of the CCH community would be skewed as well but you get over it and realize you cannot judge an entire community's heart by it. It's unfortunate that these things happen but they do, and they happen all over the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Apparently the coaching staff at Highlands work extremely hard teaching the kids respect, but stuff happens. I remember not too long ago many Bird fans including myself went off on a Lexington Catholic program due in some part to the antics of one particular individual on the field. We didn't like his shenanigans. It left us with a bad taste in our mouth's in regards to Lex. Cath, but once the emotions subsided, wisdom took over. You cannot blame an entire community, its school system, nor its athletic program based on the antics of a 13 yr old child. Time to grow up. -LexCath 3:53

Like wheat being sifted from the chaff, we finally expose all the Bluebird "posers" out there. Personally, I don't think I have to see old footage of Frisk. I've heard so much about this kid over the past several years that he's got to be in the top 2. AC was my pick simply because he made the other players look like middle schooler's. Haven't seen a player like him to this date.

So Frisk looks to be the greatest runing back in Bluebird history, yet there is no archived footage of the best to set foot on the hallowed grounds of DCMS? Shame on all of you. T birds must be the only true "blue" Bird fan!

That may be all well and good in your household, but if we're honest with ourselves, there's quite a few kids that fall through the cracks with little to no instruction on the intangibles in life. These "autograph sessions" would be the perfect opportunity to reach out to those kids that may not have someone in their life encouraging them. And what better way than through an older teen as opposed to hearing it from a parent. I don't care how you slice it, it's a missed opportunity if the coaches didn't tag a positive message to these sessions.

Gee, let me think now, would I want the youth of our community to grow up desiring to be great football players in life (better chance at winning the lottery) or would I want to equip him with knowledge and direction to avoid one of a variety of social ills that befall our young adults these days? I honestly don't think Fort Thomas is a strong community because of its high school football program. It is because of parents and teachers preparing our young children for the 80% of life left after high school. It is because they care and exude truly important qualities and not those that revolve around a "win" or " you're a loser" mentality. Maybe in future years they can see past the "program" and think of ways to solidify our future generation.
