  1. 27-25 Lafayette in 2nd Qtr. Scott Co. in a lot of foul trouble.
  2. LCA by 27 I think in this one. I know they won based on the highlights from WTVQ but blanking on the final.
  3. Montgomery Co? Assumption? Those were only two good ones I saw. Pretty evenly, records about the same, etc. Overall a good matchup. I'd say Lex Cath was slightly favored if we had to put a spread, but these two were pretty evenly matched. The Lady Knight's name does make them dangerous whenever they play, but as a certain State team has proven, name only gets you so far.
  4. No offense to Franklin, I know they are good, but I think LCA is currently a buzzsaw. Three D1 stars is tough to beat especially when you get to tourny time and they realize their careers are almost over.
  5. Hardly. Lex Cath was okay this season but struggled throughout the season. THey did put on a strong performance in district but this team was a bit down though still a great showing after losing some good senior leadership last year. I know Scott Co. also had a similar season of ups and downs, but I'd say this game was a toss up. Scott Co. has been playing well of late and seems to have gel'd as a young team. Congrats on the win. Also, congrats to Maggie Wilson on a good career with the Lady Knights.
  6. Ha, game. Oh well, mad. Horrible game. Unsure of our plans. Did face a good shooting performance but amazing how we continue to fail to show up for important games.
  7. So would you support a Billy G firing based on this statement? Or even better Barnhart again? Supply something better.
  8. Many reasons, first one at top of the mind, the quote" Fans need to give this sometime, we have to rebuild".....then why in the world keep raising ticket prices.
  9. Mitch can go after whoever he wants, if I had my wish, he'd also be looking for a job himself. But that hope has existed long before this season.
  10. Okay, two years, I have waited for Harris to prove he deserves minutes. Two years later, still searching.
  11. Glad to see Billy G is at least able to coach himself out of a job if nothing else.
  12. I think the biggest belief Ram, in regards to this topic is the fact that based simply on population, one would have to believe Lexington would have the greatest chance of fielding at least one Public High School that could compete with the likes of T or X. That is besides the Louisville Publics which have seen only Male ever emerge as that third team. Many people have brought up some interesting points and I think the full answer lies in a combination of all these points. First, their isn't as strong a backing for the sport of football in Lexington as there is for other sports. I have no clue why, but when it comes to sports, I'd have to rank Football as third or fourth most popular at the youth levels. Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer seem to have a wider influence in this city. I think this could be evidenced by the relative success or competitiveness Lexington has shown in these three sports over the years compared to football. Second, the success and existence of Catholic and Christian do to some extent hinder the success of the Public Schools. The talent pool exists in this city, but it is probably nowhere near the extent of Louisville. Water it down some for the Public Schools by removing a few players here and there to the Private schools and the talent will suffer some. Third, open enrollment could benefit Lexington schools to some degree in sports while also pushing some schools to really bolster their academics to improve enrollment. However, I am not sure how feasible this is at this point. Dunbar can only grow so far before it would become overpopulated. Bryan Station would be a real interesting situation as well, and Henry Clay could also benefit from this. Tates Creek and Lafayette would be left somewhere in the middle. On a side note, I think Dunbar might be the most disappointing of all Lexington Schools. Here is a school with a monster enrollment, nice facillities, a decent drawing area in the city, good academics that attract students, etc. Yet recently I feel they have fielded mediocre teams. Mainly just stating something more then anything else.
  13. As you said, the 43 District's public schools didn't help themselves in regards to the blind draw. They put up the boycott, thus meaning it was almost necessary since none of the three even played Lex Cath. Though, in the Lady Knight's defense, they did beat Dunbar head to head for the right to play in the region.
  14. I might not look past Franklin Co. but I'd still say w/ LCA looming as a semi opponent they'll have to play well to get the region. I'm not sure they can do it even though I saw the regular season matchup between the two was close. As for the other side of the bracket, anyone of the teams could make it to the championship if they play well, but I think if Lex Cath can play like they did in district they could make it to the final game.
  15. Hmmm, I think we could have a Lex Cath-LCA rematch in the final for this one based on the matchups. I'd look for LCA to be the huge favorite at this time to play in Bowling Green.
  16. And, for what its worth, I believe the Faulkners are great players. I was very impressed last year with the Bryan Station duo last year as well as the Holmes duo also and think that this is a less obvious choice then some people have acted. Still, all individuals named are great players. I have always liked watching Lex Cath's duo and while I think they aren't at the level of some of these guys on this list, they are definately great leaders. Botkin can really bring it and make some big plays while Vee is an obvious scoring star however I sometimes question his play decisions.
  17. I am sure this has been addressed already but considering I just started reading this thread and am only on the first page, I have to ask now, these guys avg 36.8 ppg combined correct?? And now someone has suggested they avg 18.4 shots supposedly a game combined. We do realize that these guys aren't shooting 100% on the season, and furthermore, they most likely have made a few three pointers and free throws, considering they are good players and guards who should draw fouls and have a few threes. So Mrs Hoops 69, I think you are wrong with this stat. If these two guys shot 18.4 shots a game the most they could avg would be about 55.2 ppg if they only shot 3's and made them all, they are not doing that. They might hit close to that many but I am going to assume they shoot a combined 30 or more shots between themselves a game.
  18. On the earlier defensive foul on UNC against Stevenson, if we look at the contact between Stevenson and Zeller I think it was on Stevenson. However, I really did think the foul was on the reach in that got the ball out of Stevenson's hand.
  19. Can't hesitate with Patterson, if he is open, you get it to him. I know the D is playing tough on him, but there have been opportunities.
