  1. I was wondering if anyone had updates. Last I knew, 0-0 second ot period. Been a tight one or so it sounds like. Two very good teams going against each other here.
  2. Problem is, that is said every year and so far the Knights still have a game where the D doesn't pick it up and the O isn't clicking like it should. I do think the addition of a stronger run game this year will be big for the team but I think only time will tell if they can finally get over the hump.
  3. You are correct swamp thang, however, the offense producing early and often will definately take pressure off the D. In years past the O hits a wall at some point against the better teams.
  4. I know Fidler put up some insane numbers last year, but was it really 4,000 yards??!!! Burke this year has only put up about 3000 or so. Of course he is hindered by some weak teams in district meaning he might only get two to three quarters of play and only about 15 or 16 throws. Heck he had two passing tds, one running, and was 8 of 12 for only 130 yards last week against Anderson. By the way Burke is 9-1 with his only loss this year coming to St. X by a field goal to end game.
  5. Lex Cath was not as one dimesional as in years past. The line has held up well most of the season allowing Israel ecspecially to run very well. Against St. X he was pretty amazing getting a lot of big gains all day. I haven't seen the team play since but I know he hasn't slowed down much since except for bit of an injury midseason. Burke also is dangerous with the run, as well he can move in the pocket, make time for himself and either throw or run. Still Knights got to have confidence. I know my senior year a few people seemed to let our inability in third round games shake them for awhile. We managed to beat Cov Cath but lost to Highlands by a TD in a good game. I'd say these boys just got to keep their heads on them and perhaps I'll finally get to see a Knights game after Thanksgiving day.
  6. I won't doubt there are at least rumors (true or not) that surround the 2002 championship for the Knights. I've heard a couple, some that aren't even about recruiting violations but grades. Who knows for sure. I've said this in a few threads, the biggest problem right now is that everything is he said/she said. Nothing solid has come forth. I do feel certain programs at Lex Cath are catching a lot of heat for problems existing mainly in the basketball program. On the public/private split of championships I just think this is the wrong way to handle it with a split.
  7. Agreed, problem is, no one has brought forth hard evidence to say the teams are cheating to get their wins. By the way, this has to be a flawed thread, speaking to NEXT. Either what you mean is that Lexington Catholic is the school which first got the private/public debate rolling or else I disagree with this all being about Lexington Catholic. Public schools voting on this proposal in Western Ky hardly care about how Lex Cath is affecting them just as do the schools in Nky, Eastern Ky, and even a lot of the Louisville schools. So yes, Lexington Catholic might have been one of the key programs to bring about all that has occurred, but I hardly think they are the sole purpose for such heavy support. Also, im still interested to know what all evidence existed a few years ago to bust Lex Cath, that isn't there now. People keep saying the evidence exists but they seem to not be able to provide it when called upon for it. (NEXT, this isn't to call you out, I understand here that it wouldn't be right even if you knew the evidence to have you bring it out, im speaking more in general)
  8. When did winning suddenly become such a scarlet letter of shame?
  9. Burke doesn't play D for same reasons, though it helps that Lex Cath has decent enough players at the positions he plays to also mean he isn't really needed. JOHNWAYNE, im partial to any QB who likes to mix it up and play a little D, sounds like Fritz is a pretty good all around guy and your right I haven't heard much about him. In fact I don't even know where he plays.
  10. How so? They played and beat everyone, private or public that they could and didn't complain about unfair advantages in the process. I just think this is cowardly of public schools to just eliminate schools from competition against them all together when it comes to titles.
  11. DISGUSTED, all I can say about Kentucky High School Sports right now.
  12. I saw the film of that game my senior year when we were preparing to play Male, we replayed the hit over and over again, it was SICK. Hardest hit I've ever seen. To watch it in slow-mo you could see the Highland's player's facial expression as his helmet flew off, it was crazy. Very legal good hit but man, you really worried the kid might be hurt bad at first sight.
  13. My school is one of the key ones ecspecially in basketball (boys and girls) that have brought this issue so far.
  14. Im loving these, keep them coming.
  15. Guru, will those of us already on scholarship be notified when we need to reapply? Also, thanks to everyone who has made it possible for me to be on this site throughout the year, I have enjoyed getting to talk sports and random other subjects with all of you.
  16. I agree with the main comments of this thread that the Louisville schools are probably better than the Lexington area as a whole(though I don't think Male has had their way with Catholic the last two years by any means). However I think that A problem with the Lexington Schools is that the talent is to dispersed around the city. I do think that a All-Star Lexington team would compete with Louisville though. There are at least five good runningbacks and two quarterbacks that would make a team like that competitive. Add in some of the recievers like Logan and Beavin who hurt Male and I think Lexington All-stars would be tough. Obviously this is only a random hypothetical situation, but I am just responding to earlier said comments.
