Anyone else attend the free stadium practice last night? I took four 8th graders and I thought it was well done by the organization. I have often been critical of the organization and it would have been very easy to cancel the event last night but they didn’t. They delayed for hours due to weather and still held a shorten event for the fans. Everyone in my group was glad we stayed through it all. We got to see about 45 minutes of action from great seats. It was a positive, cool experience and something I hope the organization continues .

I consider AI as another tool in the toolbox. It should be used as such. It is a resource that can be leveraged to provide a team/coach an advantage. Those that get on board now could have a short term advantage while programs that don’t embrace the technology could one day be chasing to get caught up. Having great athletes is most important. Having a great coach and community is massively important. Those two things will never change. Using new techniques, changing with times, taking advantage of all the resources available may provide the slight edge for two closely ranked teams. That’s my take on AI in high school football.

I will be following the Beechwood 8th grade team this year. I will provide some short weekly notes this season and scores. I may also see some of the Beechwood 7th grade team and might be able to share some scores. I would encourage others to join along and keep us updated about the team you follow. Let’s keep it positive here and encouraging for these young student athletes. The Tigers head to Mason County tomorrow for their first scrimmage of the season.

I don’t have any insider news to report but visually it’s not complete. Bleachers seem to be done. New concession seems like it is close. New restrooms near the Kroger lot have a roof over them and walls but not sure about the interior. Also, still plenty of material and equipment around the parking lot. Appears to be getting close but I have no idea of the final completion date. I believe the Tigers host Ryle tomorrow, so I am not sure what the plan is there, plus school returns next week. If I can, I will try to get a few pictures this evening.

And I still prefer keeping him. After/during 2027 is when I would consider trading. But, even then, I would want a lot, especially considering he would still have two more years of team control on his existing deal.

Not true. According to spotrac.com. 67 major league pitchers will be paid more this season, including the $12.5M Brady Singer will earn. Greene is making $8.3M this year and the team has control through 2029. Reds are more interested in running business than winning. Keeping Greene with this contract is good business, healthy or not.

Has BW participated in any 7v7 action this July? I have seen updates from a lot of teams but have not seen any updates from the Tigers?

I am not asking for seats with backs. But the bleachers could use a few repairs and new seats.

Could use some new bleacher seats. I hope that is included in the work.

Any one know the future plans for their players? How many may get drafted? How many hold scholarship offers?

I feel like it’s a great deal for the win now Rams. I also feel like it’s a great move for the Browns. Verse is above average, very good. Young. Cheaper. Plus picks for a rebuilding team. I don’t see a loser in this deal.

Baseball tournament play is so much about pitching. Any idea what the pitching matchups might be for today and what that will leave for the finals?

What traditions have been lost recently? I believe in traditions but I also think it’s a bit of a balancing act with each group. Keeping the traditions alive, while allowing each group to be their own group. And of course I asked the black jersey question because I love the alternate look, once a year. Plus I figured it would make for some fun replies.

I am not familiar with Coach Rash and I have appreciated reading comments from those with more familiarity with him and his style. I know he is an older coach and I get the impression he might be a little more ‘old school’ than the previous coach. Which leads me to one question… Will the team still wear the alternate black jersey at some point this season? I believe they have been worn for one game each of the last few seasons.

Line size (both offensive and defensive) and depth are what really separates the great programs from the elite programs. Two things that don’t get talked about much. Hard for the average fan to quantify these two things. They just see the huge splash plays that are created by mauling blockers that allow huge holes to run and extra time for the passing game. Perfect technique gives anyone a chance but at a certain point size and power win out. Not to mention being the fresher team going into the 4th quarter due to superior depth.

Agreed. I am very curious to how they man those spots. Does anyone know if the offense/defense schemes will change with the new coach and how that might impact the team?

Can provide more details on the younger players that will be stepping into more prominent roles? Besides the returning skill position guys, I am not very familiar with the other players.

LCA was outstanding last year. They have to be ranked one to start the season. I also believe their schedule will have them prepared come playoff time.

I like both, but it’s two different games. Especially, during the playoffs.

I was hoping the bye would be after the Spain trip. Later bye and after a world traveling game. I was also hoping to get KC early in the season, while Mahommes might still be rusty. You never know with the NFL but overall this is a winnable schedule in my eyes.

I feel like after 9/18 there isn’t another game on the schedule that will be competitive. IH instead of NCC seems like a nice upgrade. Ryle might be down a bit and should be good game Anderson kicks their butt and can be used as motivation all season. Their district is so bad. It’s a real disadvantage.
