  1. Congratulations to my son, Jacob Jennings from Bishop Brossart. He had a great season. Very proud of him.
  2. Would it be wrong to root for Dunbar? As I stated in a previous thread, if Dunbar wins the State Tournament, the Brossart players can always say they were beaten by the eventual state champions. :thumb: I wish Highlands the best of luck.
  3. I'm not sure what that means. How are the refs from Louisville any different than from around here? In hindsight, I thought the referees did a great job last night. No complaints here. Although, I have never been one to complain about referees. Now my father, that is a different story.
  4. Congrats to Dunbar. They are impressive. They had Brossart on their heels much of the first half. Brossart came out in the 2nd half and looked much better. Dierig and Jennings with goals for Brossart. Congrats the the Mustangs on a great season. All A State Champs, District Champs, and Regional Champs. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my son, Jake Jennings. It has been a pleasure to watch you through the years. Now on to the basketball threads! See all you soccer studs later.
  5. I have not minded the Ft. Thomas slant at all. For me, it was understood that the article comes from the Ft. Thomas Recorder and was slanted towards Highlands.
  6. A big thanks to the Brossart AD!
  7. I think BBHS realizes that they are up against a juggernaut. I think they are pleased with the success they have had this year. They have accomplished the goals they set at the beginning of the season. From this point forward, anything else is simply icing on the cake. Should the Mustangs fail to advance, they will most assuredly root for Dunbar to win the state tournament. At least they will be able to tell their children someday, that they were beaten by the eventual state champion. It should be an exciting and fun atmosphere tomorrow night.
  8. I will be there!
  9. I think #39. The red card was after BBHS scored their 2nd goal. I think he was upset with the ref over not getting the calls they thought his team should. It was unfortunate. The Scott team played very hard. Not a good way to end their season.
  10. The Brossart Mustangs hold on in a tough matchup with Scott. Final 2-0. Both teams played very hard. Brossart controlled most of the game but Scott had several shots on goal. Scott with two yellows and one red card. Congrats to the Mustangs and to my senior son. A great season so far. Can we get one more? Dunbar stands in the way.
  11. We will have to wait and see if TAC chimes in. I did not see him in the crowd tonight.
  12. Harrison scores first but BBHS puts up 5 to head to the regional finals. The highlight of the game was when the center ref threatened to send the fans to the parking lot. Cold night for soccer. Rain, sleet, and freezing temperatures. It's time for basketball.
  13. My point exactly. Dunbar very well may be the team with the best chance to win it all, but we all know that in soccer, you never know how things are going to play out. Nothing would make us happier than to have an opportunity to play an eventual champion. At least we would know we gave it our best shot. But, as Redcard stated, there's a lot of soccer still to be played before we cross that hurdle.
  14. Strong statement. From a small school point of view, the Mustangs need to focus on the game at hand. Looking ahead to possible future games doesn't do them any good. We can discuss how dominating Dunbar is, should Bishop Brossart make through their region. Good luck to you and to Dunbar.
  15. Ditto. Well said. If you need cash for Thursday, let me know and I will wire you some cash. Would love to see you.
  16. TAC, Were you there? I wish I would have known. I would have looked for you. Maybe we can hook up on Thursday. PM me and we can make plans.
  17. Jeff Paulin saves a GRC shot in the sudden death shootout. Drew Miller capitalizes on the opportunity and sends his shot past the goalkeeper for the Mustang win. The Mustangs take on Harrison County on Thursday night at Montgomery County.
  18. I'll go with Boone, although I have not seen Ryle play. Only box scores. I think Boone has great offense and enough defense to hold off the Raiders.
  19. I would agree, although Harrison has been playing better. They could shock the Mustangs. As they did last year. Question: Does Montgomery County have a turf field or grass?
  20. Early rise time for me. I went to bed. I thought the game between Scott and BBHS was well officiated. Both teams played well. Scot had only three yellow cards, which was a good night for them. Unlike Sports Fan, I thought Scott played pretty good defense. The Mustangs may have lost one player to injury. Jonn Henn, injured in the first half, was suspected to have a broken ankle, but I have received no word on an actual diagnosis. Both teams move on and I suspect that there may be a chance that they see each other again in the regional.
  21. Thank God my son is a senior and will be done with high school sports after this year. Reading what some players, coaches, schools will do to win is extremely sad. I have been proud of my son over the last four years. Although not perfect in any way, he has played with great competitiveness as well as, compassion for his opponent. I have witnessed him stop playing to help an opponent up, or to pat them on the back after a good play on their part. That's what high school sports should be all about. If playing dirty, trash talking, and intentionally hurting others is where sports are headed, I for one, am not interested.
  22. I would agree with your listing. I would add that any of these teams can beat the other on any given night. I'm not so certain that Boone is slightly above the rest. It really just comes down to who shows up to play. As is always the case, the team that wants it more will usually come out on top. It should be fun. I hate to see it come to an end.
