Sweet Sixteen

Featured Replies

On another thread I predicted a Dunbar vs Trinty final and both teams have advanced to the sweet sixteen. Trinity needed pk's to beat St X and Dunbar just continues on to their championship game. I have predicted a Dunbar championship and the next two teams in their way are 10th region champs BB and then 9th region champs HHS. I understand that BB is planning on playing their game at NKU which IMO is a big mistake. The big field will only give Dunbar more room to play their quick pace style. NK soccer fans who want to see probably the top team in the state should come and watch the game.

Dunbar has only lost one game, but have a pair of ties, one of which was with Boone County earlier in the season. The Mustangs defeated the Rebels 4-3 back on September 19th, so hope springs eternal.

You can listen to the game live via our BMustangs website, starting at 6;45pm Monday night.

This is a take from a Dunbar fan on the Boone versus Dunbar game earlier in the year. Take it for what it's worth' one fans opinion.

Boone County tied Dunbar today, but don't let that result fool you. It was 3-0 Dunbar when they were playing the starters. Boone County scored 3 in the last 11 minutes of the game against Dunbars last 13 or 14 players in the game.

I think BBHS realizes that they are up against a juggernaut. I think they are pleased with the success they have had this year. They have accomplished the goals they set at the beginning of the season. From this point forward, anything else is simply icing on the cake. Should the Mustangs fail to advance, they will most assuredly root for Dunbar to win the state tournament. At least they will be able to tell their children someday, that they were beaten by the eventual state champion. It should be an exciting and fun atmosphere tomorrow night.

I will attend also. Such a big field!

But great creature comforts.

Parking close by and an elevator to the press box rank right up there on my list of favorites. :lol2:

Glad to hear that you will be there Panda. I look forward to seeing your photographic genius at work with our team.

What's it take to get in the press box? Do you have to pay more, I know most schools don't let run of the mill fans in the press box.

I've seen Dunbar play several times this year and their speed up front will be a challenge for Brossart on the big field. They really like to get the ball out into space and let their skill players go to work.

Also as a local comparison - played NCC at bluegrass (tied 1 -1), at St. Henry (Dunbar won 5-1). Both games were on grass and Dunbar couldn't utilize their speed up front. Beat Ryle 3 - 1 and tied Boone 3-3.

Rooting for the locals . . .

BTW - don't forget to bring your extra $4.00 for parking at NKU. Park down by the old city building and walk to save a few bucks. . .

Free Parking

Melvin anted up the parking buy-out fee so there is free parking both nights.

A big thanks to the Brossart AD!

Just so you all know the refs will not be from around here, they probably will be from ashland or louisville.

Louisville

I'm not sure what that means. How are the refs from Louisville any different than from around here? In hindsight, I thought the referees did a great job last night. No complaints here. Although, I have never been one to complain about referees. Now my father, that is a different story.
