Despite what others think, Ryle has played tough teams this year and Desales is just as tough. I hope that we come out of Columbus healthy and get ready for the district games. This is a good team despite the 1-2 record and yes UnionKY (welcome aboard first post ever) we have had injuries. I think Ryle is trying to get thorugh this part of the schedule and focus on district games.

Ryle plays Holmes tonight at Holmes, it starts at 7:00. Also just heard that Ryle plays Beechwood on the 18th @ Ryle at 9:00 AM. The 7 on 7 with Cov Cath has been cancelled.

Just heard that Ryle will be playing Colerain on Thursday, August 30th at Ryle. Game time is 7:05.

The home version of the broadcast will be diferent then the away version. For the home version we hope to have at least 4 camera angles. Three on top of the pressbox and one on the field. The cameras on the top of the pressbox will focus on the clock, tight angle of the line of scrimmage and a wide angle of the line of scrimmage. The camera on the field will focus tight on the line of scrimmage. We are trying to get software to do instant replays and pre and post game interviews and that will be done from the truck. Our biggest issue is trying to get volunteers. It is amazing how many peolpe want you to broadcast but want others to help you broadcast. If anyone wants us to broadcast their game just reach out to us and help cover the expenses and we will consider it.

your right UK, but the offense got spread around ALOT more when Travis went out too. Tanner did not start getting the ball until game 5. He was rarely in the backfield until after Travis went down. Nutter was the key back for a couple of games. By that time Nathan Davis had shown that he can run the ball, Tanner showed that he can run as well. The whole offense changed. It is very difficult to replace Travis. Word is that there is high energy and great chemistry with this group of players and the expectation is high as well. Several of the players that did not play last year for whatever reason, have decided to come back for their senior year.

Ryle won thier first regional championship in 15 years. Regional Championship includes Nick Kennedy (100, 200 long jump) Tanner McConvey (100 and 300 hurdles), Michael Leone (discus), Nathan Davis (school record 6'4" high jump). also qualifying for Ryle was the 4 x 200 relay team (Hill/Salmen/ Winegardner/Aulick).

I think you will see some different looks this at Ryle, offensively. You have Davis, Pulice, Hill, Salmen and Kennedy. All four of those backs are going to state in track and have speed. Who gets the ball? Davis with his speed and toughness? Pulice, who is as fast as Travis and a hard hitting runner? Hill, with his cut back speed and illusive quickness? And Nick Kennedy who is now healed from his should injury? and Nick Salmen with his speed and great hands. The offensive line is probably one of the better lines that Ryle has had in a while. They rival the line from two years ago and the '06 line. Dont forget the Dylan Plavant and Travis Pavy are healed up also. Many returning starters from last year and we have youth to replace the seniors that graduated. That youth has experience and got alot of playing time last year.

We started something new at Ryle. We will broadcast, hopefully once a month, a show that we are going to call Coach's Corner. It will be a 15 minute segment on sports are Ryle. Tomorrow night we will be with Coach Warner, Coach Woolfe and Coach Teegarden from Barleycorn's on HWY 42 in Florence. We will discuss spring football, the open house and any other questions that come up. Here are my thoughts, if the core group of kids stay together and have been playing at the varsity level since there were 10th graders and have been in the same type of offense throughout their years, that could translate into a pretty good varsity team. This could be an interesting year...

If a 9th grade team goes undefeated how will that team be when those players become seniors? Is it a good varsity team? Is it a good indication of how the team will be when they are varsity players? Why or Why not? What has history shown?
