Results from the Class 1A Region 3 meet at Bardstown.

 

Highlights include:

Holy Cross distance runners Jacob Thomson and Karly Gawarecki dominate

Ft. Knox's Kiara Austin wins 4 events -- Long jump, Triple jump, 100hurdles, 4x4 relay

Bardstown's Victoria Yocum sweeps the sprints; B'tpwn tops Ft. Knox by just 5 points

Fort Knox's would-be region champs in the boys' 4x100 are DQd -- I think they were rated 4th in the state

Ryle won thier first regional championship in 15 years. Regional Championship includes Nick Kennedy (100, 200 long jump) Tanner McConvey (100 and 300 hurdles), Michael Leone (discus), Nathan Davis (school record 6'4" high jump). also qualifying for Ryle was the 4 x 200 relay team (Hill/Salmen/ Winegardner/Aulick).

I've said it on here previously and I still stand by it. IMO Ryle is set up best to dominate NKY sports. I'm not talking about winning the championship every year in every sport. I'm talking overall athletics success.
