For the most part, I am of the opinion, that at the freshman level the team with the better pure athletes is the team that will have the most present success. Just as Leatherneck said, 1 to 2 years later that same team can be very, very different. Many, many factors go into what develops into a quality varsity product. JV is a completely different animal. Most notably due to rosters changing throughout the season, sometimes even week to week. JV could possibly be the most difficult of the three levels to coach and play for just this reason. The two most important aspects that go into building a quality program (Ryle) and continuing to drive a quality program (Highlands) is development and consistency. From freshman to varsity, if the kids develop more and more each year and have a consistent path in which to follow then I have no doubt you will see both Highlands and Ryle playing late into the playoffs for years to come.

I have not scene Ludlow or Bracken play this year. My gut feeling tells me to go with Ludlow. Best of luck to both teams! How many teams are there in the state of Kentucky?

Thanks for the Info Mountain Thunder! :thumb: I remember watching a game at there stadium last year. If I remember right, it seemed like every first down they got (which there were many) they played music. They had some very nice facilities.

Looks like a solid top 10. I expected to see Johnson Central on the list. I saw them play last year and they looked to be a very good team. Did they have a lot of players graduate or something?

I agree 100%. The line was outstanding last night. At the beginning of the second half I was standing in the end zone and the big boys up front opened one of the largest holes I have ever scene. The Highlands back could have literally walked in for a TD. With this much skill up front and as many talented backs the Birds have the future looks very bright in Ft. Thomas. Keep it up, one game at a time.

I look for Holmes to win this game. However, I do think the game will be close. I share the opinion of many, which think that Coach Lickert is one of the top young coaches in NKY. I have no doubt that he has this program heading in the right direction. As stated throughout this thread, this game will help Bellevue prepare for there season as well as the playoffs tremendously. I look for this game to be very close from start to finish. I’m not one for making predictions, but I am excited to see the direction the Newport program is taking under there new coaching staff. Congratulations to Bellevue for receiving the Kellogg grant money!
