  1. For Walton-Verona fans, you guys need to be worried about winning the 8th region instead of a ranking that in the end doesn't mean a thing. Worry about beating Anderson and South Oldham then NOBODY will care where you ranked. You will be in the SWEET SIXTEEN.
  2. I believe ole Frank James tried telling Ryle fans it wouldn't be close but what do I know...............:isurrender:
  3. Well, I guess time will tell. You have your opinion and I have mine. We will see in next two months until then Frank James is leaving the building! My guess is you better hope you don't draw the 5 , 6, 7 region in state tourney. You better hope 5, 6, 7, and 14 all play each other in 1-2 round so somebody else have chance to play on Saturday morning.
  4. h20boy what amazes me is that you make a comment about winning a few games. Those 3 teams win more than a few games. Again, Manual and Marion and Mercy above all others. Looked at schedule, well teams in Top 20 are the following: Lets see Madison Central? Marion wins by 34, Lexington Catholic? Marion wins by 20+, Paul Dunbar? Marion wins by 20+, Lincoln Co? Marion wins by 30, Casey Co? Marion wins by 20+, On the other hand, Anderson, Ryle, Sacred Heart, Ballard, Henderson Co., etc may not even be TOP 20 so you think those teams could beat one of the top 3.
  5. There is only 2 teams in Kentucky that can beat Manual: Marion and Mercy. There is only 2 teams in Kentucky that can beat Marion: Manual and Mercy. Now I do agree that the lower 15 in Top 20 can beat anyone else on given night. Now, that all I am saying about this.
  6. I wonder why Bryan Station gets no respect. They are 4-1 right now. By my calculation they have best record in city. I was at the Tates Creek game, they play extremely hard. The Warfield kids is a stud running back. He is not bad to watch either.
  7. Marion vs Etown in the FINALS. I take Marion Co. Playing really well at the right time. Playing in Marion Co. to me favors Marion in a big way. If either team is played within 10 points in first two rounds I would be surprised.
  8. As someone mention earlier, I do know him and no I will not be on his staff. I'm not a coach. Are you sure you are from the area Readymade. He will do a great job there at Bryan Station. Now here is the information that you seem to so desperately need...He coached high school football in Canada for three years, was an assistant at Lincoln, OC at Marion where he called plays, BTW, they went to state semi finals that year, and last year he was assistant head coach at Washington County. This is all accurate information!
  9. He turned down interview at Spencer CO. TALKED with Madison Southern very late, a week or so before they made a decision. Being mentioned does not mean apply. And I am not in the dark with him. I know much more than most. There was no application sent in to any school exccept Fairdale and Grant Co. All my information is very accurate! He is a quality guy and a great coach.
  10. Yeast has no interest in Holmes nor did he apply applied to Holmes. They contacted him a day after their coach left and asked if he would be interested in applying. Again, make sure your facts are accurate. If you are going to talk about a guy I know be very sure that you know what you are talking about because I certainly do. This thread is and should only be about Arvin and the Grant Co. football program. One more time, good luck Arvin and the Braves!
  11. I'm very well informed. I know the guy. Yes, the story is accurate. He is a finalist for that job. Yeast was contacted by BS not the other way around. Trust me, he has not applied to every school in the state. Two schools is hardly every school in the state. He may have talked to a few others but talking doesn't hurt anyone and has nothing to do with applying. Arvin is a good guy from what I know of the guy. I say again good luck to him and Grant Co.
  12. Shredding Defenses your information is inaccurate about Yeast applying for every job in the state. Grant and Fairdale are the only two he applied for. He was contacted first by a few other schools. Make sure you have your facts straight. Mark Perry is the OC at Washington Co. Yeast never claimed to be the OC there, but he has a lot of input . He was the OC at Marion. He's a very good young coach with much to offer, again make sure you have all your information straight before you make post about someone. By the way, he pulled his name out for that Grant job. I know him and Arvin and they are both very good coaches. Good luck to Arvin!
  13. Does anyone have news on a hire for this job?
  14. According to a source, they conducted interviews last week, but they would not tell me any names or further information. I don't know who Station will hire on this one, but they need to get it right. They need a guy that will have some instant credibility with the kids and community when he walks in the door. It has to be a person that knows the lay of the land in Lexington well, young, willing to roll his sleeves up and get dirty, and the ability to relate to the kids on a level beyond football. Lucas done a great job there and he is a good coach. Last year was a setback and the administration cannot allow this to happen again. They next coach needs to go back and build on some of the things that Lucas did to turn it around.
  15. I would like to know who will get this job. I think it could be a good job but lots of work would have to be done. I could be wrong but for some of those kids it will be the third coach in three years. That alone will make this a tough situation. Whoever gets this job will have to be someone who will stick around for at least 5-10 years, earn the trust of the kids and put together a great staff in order to get things on the right track. There have been many great players go through there and there are plenty more of those great athletes walking the halls there now! If they get the right guy, I would love to see how powerful this history rich program can seriously be. Good luck to whoever is handed the keys to this program!
  16. OH by the way chshockey, YOUR research of Marion Co. not very good...You said they were 0-2 vs. Top 20 Teams...I guess they didn't beat Scott Co. and Madison Central...LOOK IT UP!!!!
  17. Yeaat was a paid assistant at Lincoln. He will be finished with all his school obligations in May! He still works in MarionSchool System. He left because he did not fit in witg the staff there! He's a heck of a coordinator, coach and a even better individual. Southern would not go wrong if they decide to offer him the job.
  18. You are wrong! With Yeast Marion started in I-formation, not spread, which is what they done before he got there, make sure your facts are accurate. They lost first 2 games to Bell Co a team they had beat until they turned ball over 4 times, and lost to Nelson Co becaues of 6 turnovers. Yeast called every play all year. He went to wishbone because they didn't have a quarterback to throw and he couldn't get the ball to one of his best athletes on the team, he was a WR so he put that kid in the back field handed the ball it to him and coached him into being a running back. A kid with talent but never been a RB. I think that kid ended up running for over 1300 yards after not touching it the first two games. Read my earlier post, make sure you know all the facts and why he has been at 3 places in 3 years. WC was 3-8 year before he got there and MC couldn't get out of 2nd round before he went there. Timing is everything but so is good coaching.
  19. People look at things differently, especially when they don't have all the facts. At Lincoln he was driving from Danville to Lexington for work and from Lexington to Stanford to coach everyday. Marion offered him a job in the high school building and as OC. He never fit in with the staff at Marion even though they went to semi-finals the year he was there and they scored a bunch of points. This past year he went to Washington to work with a friend. All I can say is Washington Co. had great offensive year and their best year overall in 13 years or so, while Marion saw their offensive production drop tremendously. Not to metion WC beat MC! People move around in the coaching profession for reasons only they know. He has had success everywhere he has gone. His playing career helps him because it has allowed him to experience alot. He's a more than solid coach and great person as well that kids instantly relate to. In the coaching profession, I don't put too much stock into a coach moving around. It's a business and happens everyday!
  20. Be sure of what you say about Yeast. Big name or not, he's a very good young coach. I know several people that are very close friends with him. According to them, he wants to find the right situation for longevity. He not looking for a 2 or 3 year job and then leave. He wants to build a program and coach his son (6th grade) through high school and watch his daughter (3rd grade) through high school as well.
  21. barrel, do you know any of the names of the coaches that have been interviewed?
  22. I think Mercer made a great hire with Rains. IMO...the next step should be to put together a winning staff. If he should begin with going out and securing Yeast. I still think he would be a super addition to Rains staff and Mercer County. Good Luck Titan Faithful! From top to bottom you all deserve to have a successful program!
  23. Has anyone heard anything about the coaching search? Have they interviewed anyone yet or made a hire. Seems to me that the administration would have a coach in place by now, considering that the position has beem open since early november. I would think they would have more of a sense of urgency, if they want to turn the program around?
  24. Fair enough barrel. Loking for a coach should be high priority at this point. Hope they move with more of a sense of urgency. I still hope they at least take a look at Yeast and give him a shot at an interview. IMO, hometown boy would be great for Mercer.
