Ryle? Beechwood? Conner? NCC? Who else has a chance?There are so many solid teams this year. Beechwood has young talent that look very promising. Stringer is killing the ball. Ryle's Tyler mason, Thomas Baumann, and well pretty much everyone in their line up are crushing the ball. Conner has Maines and a good hitting team. NCC always seems to come alive during tournament time. And their are so many other solid teams out there this year! Who do you see getting to the "promise land" in Lexington?

18-2 Ryle get their first major test this weekend! Playing 2 ranked teams in Eastern and Lafayette and a very solid Union County team! How do you think they'll do?

I got there a little late but Ryle just didn't play well and from talking to the Anderson coach a little after they gave the game away to Scott and they played as bad to them as Ryle played today. But Anderson came to play and played very well. Ryle will be back at the grind Monday and I'm sure will be fine. They are a good team and it someways a loss like this should mellow them out a bit and not let them think that just showing up means you'll win. And might I add Tyler Mason at 1st base today made one of the most remarkable plays at first that you'll see to get and unassisted double play on and Anderson runner, it was unbelievable. But Ryle's fine they just got a little overconfident which happens during a long season. Not taking ANYTHING away from Anderson they played VERY sound.

Who do you all like so far this year? Which teams have looked the most solid?

The escalation really began in the first when tyler mason got his first hit and Brennan ran home and Maines tripped him. They had a few words back and forth from the look of it and the umpires warned both teams. Then a pretty much identical play occurred in the third with Tyler getting a hit and Brennan scoring but this time the catcher got involved and he was tossed immediately. Pretty crazy event. But the game in general definitely had the feeling of a post season atmosphere.

Ryle came to play. Mitchell see pitched stellar 6 innings,and Tyler mason was mr clutch today with two 2 out RBI hits off Maines . Thomas Baumann with an RBI Triple off Maines. Unbelievable game by both sides. Fun to watch. There was major drama delaying the game about 20-30 minutes in the third right after Tyler mason got a base knock to score Jackson Brennan. The catcher was tossed from the game and a few Conner parents got in a scuffle causing the games delay. Pretty intense! Great game! The raiders improve record to 13-1 and play cov cath Wednesday at ryle!

This is a tough one it's a given in my opinion that Maines is on the mound for the cougars, but ryle? Tough.. Does Roesel trust in a junior in josh Bellew to come through? Justin hoard there ace just pitched 5 inning on Friday.. He's out in my opinion.. I believe Pulice pitched Saturday so he's out.. It comes down to Bellew.. Mitchell see.. Or will they pitch Tyler mason who pitched well against Conner earlier this year.. Your guess is as good as mine. The offense on both sides is remarkable so far this year.. Especially looking at the numbers on Ryle's side! Should be interesting to see the outcome!

Who pitched for ryle? From the score it seemed he controlled Conners bats pretty well.

Got a text from a buddy who was at the game.. Saying ryle raked.. Mason Forbes, Tyler Mason, and Dylan Plvan all hit well and a few other guys he didn't know. I heard Justin hoard and Tyler mason both threw really well and both threw strikes. I wasn't there so I don't know, but this sounds like a really solid win for ryle and from paper looked very impressive.

Ryle should be a very good team. I believe they haven't even played their first game yet. They have all the intangibles to contend; well at least from what I see on paper. I've seen most of the kids on the team play summer ball and they have a whole lot of talent in all aspects of the game.. Lonnemann has a very solid glove and though its hard to replace a Leiff Clarkson he should do a solid job a short. Baumann and tyler Mason are back to provide some solid offense, and Raines, deters, Forbes, Plvan, Ashley, Brennan, etc should be very solid as well. Their pitching with Hoard, Bellew, Pulice, See, and I saw on here Tyler Mason is pitching again this year and last time I saw him throw he had a great off speed and major velocity; I'm not sure how he's developed but he should provide solid innings this year.Ryle should be very well off. Boone county is a solid team that no one should take lightly. Ganns when he is on is very solid, but I'm not sure how their offense will produce now that Teegarden is gone. This is no way just a cooper and Conner region. It's up for grabs, and in my opinion the best district in NKY.

How will their pitching be? I know Downs is gone.. Who is on the rotation this year?

Thanks Cooperstown! And no, I was talking about Tyler mason starting left last year, or at least the game I saw. When you said Forbes would be starting left I was confused about if Tyler graduated or if he was playing.

i like your list Jimmy and what about the Drew crane kid cooperstown..? or the Tyler Mason kid? the only game i went to last year, was the regional game against NCC and i believe he was starting?

My son heard the other day that Tyler Mason from Ryle got offered a spot to play at USC-Sumter ( Juco School) in South Carolina. I was wondering the differences and opportunites between Juco, D-1,D-2, NAIA, etc., and what is the best way to possibly get my son seen by college coaches so he'll have the same opportunity?

The varsity team was carrying 23 players this year and it was probably better for Bellew and the others to get playing time in JV and hone their skills for next year. It is better to playing anywhere instead of sitting on the bench.JMHO

I like Justin a lot, but I think Josh Bellew (6' 4" + throws smoke) will be a nice surprise for Ryle next year a long with a couple of others from the JV farm . Ryle will definately miss this years pitching staff, but boy I really like what I see in the future.
